Each score in the sequel trilogy bests the one preceding it in my opinion. I enjoyed it in the film and the album is even better. I still need to listen to the FYC version.
I'm sad that Williams is saying farewell to Star Wars, but he had to at some point. Nine scores across 42 years is quite an accomplishment. If anyone's earned a vacation, it's him. I'm glad the series and the scores went out with a bang.
Jason is there a way to download as MP3s? I am only able to open them as web links to listen to. I know there were files to download for "The Last Jedi" FYC soundtrack.
Ok, I'm not Jason but... open one link at a time, then right click and save it onto your machine...

While it's not complete, it does have a couple of cues - not on the OST CD - that I loved in the film and find essential listening as score music. Apart from the aforementioned Falcon Flight, I also love Advice, which underscored the 'tragic cameo' scene. There are some other nice extra cues too. Over 20 minutes of NEW MUSIC from the film.
Disney should have got someone else to score this instead of sticking to tradition and getting Williams. Don’t get me wrong his contribution to he original SW movies is inestimable but his scores for the last few movies have been totally average and TROS was entirely unmemorable. Certainly not deserving of an Oscar nomination.
I see the JW's cultists are out in full force. The last three scores are serviceable but hardly memorable or classics. The well has run dry and the spark is no longer there.
Powell could've done a bang up job. So could Joel McNeely, Jame Newton Howard, probably ten other composers.
Powell did a great job on Solo, but admitted himself that it was like working with some kind of Higher Being when he watched him at work up close. And don't forget Williams supplied a lot of the meat on the bones of the Solo score. JNH and Joel McNeely would write fine scores, even if the latter would just be fed through the JW algorithms super computer.
And I'll dance on your grave, you cheeky young Newb.

It's not so much that (from me anyway), but it's unrealistic to think that after announcing that Williams had agreed to do this trilogy that they would ditch him at the very last and bring someone else in. And I'm not even that fussed on his Star Wars music, I prefer other stuff by him!

I hate 8 SW movies but hand on heart the scores I respect they took SW movies too new heights there's nothing in those movies that interests just 77. Williams music over 9 scores sound-different most-part that is unique over 40 years building on materials that didn't demise at all its fine-wine that matured into retirement, I haven't got the last 2 yet, but I will, then close the show like Williams.
