Did you lot actually pay money up front for this, or is it a case of you pay when it arrives?

Obviously the latter. The former would have been a terrible business model, as the book will seemingly never arrive, and then everyone gets zero. At least this way, someone got some money.

Face it, this is gone in the wind.

LOL! Oh, by the way due to International Tariffs, the Backers will need to fork over additional funds to cover publishing costs and release your finished book from customs.

Relax!!
The books are currently with THREE separate printers.

Mexico Printing Ltd is doing the typesetting.
Canada World Books are covering the design and outlay.
And China In Your Hands Print Works are all over the colour and binding.

Maybe, but are we going to take that lying down?

I don't know about you, but if that's true, I'm not happy to give money to a project to only have that money stuffed into a suitcase by somebody who then runs off with it.

It's a race to the finish with the James Horner books. There's actually four of those, bit of a handicap, but you never know, at this rate all four might beat the Goldsmith books to the 'published/in readers hands' finishing line.

I like the way you think.

I’ve messaged him and asked for my money back. Can anyone think of anything else to do?

We have more chance of the Moonraker tapes being found.

The printing process is inching forward and I’m still hopeful people will get their books this year. That’s all I can say at the moment—progress is being made but until I know more about the schedule there’s nothing else to report. Totally understand the frustration and this is as good a place to vent as any.

I’m really excited to read your book and I know that the production issues are not coming from you but this is the exact same update we got from you in September.

I had edited my initial post because what I left out wasn't pleasant.

I’m sure these books will be completed and sent to the backers (and I hope great efforts are made for those who have since moved to ensure they are sent to the proper address) but as to what the hold up is, if I were a betting man, I 100% bet the money made from this has been sitting in a high interest earning savings account or guaranteed investment to line the pockets of the producers. At this point, there’s absolutely no validity in an excuse that involves the printing process/shipping process. Maybe there’s a lawsuit they can’t discuss so that is a possibility, but I’m sure considering the author, legalities were worked out before this Kickstarter. Looking forward to holding these one day!

I'd guess the shipping costs for this project are probably rising faster than any potential interest earnings on the money.

If for no other reason than for Jeff Bond's amazing, herculean accomplishment deserves to exist as physical media, as actual tomes on people's shelves!

Great to hear from you on this Jeff. Much appreciated. Puts a little faith back in the prospect that the books will be ready someday.

They raised nearly 200 thousand!!!
There shouldn't be any problems getting these glossy, full colour babies in to investors' hands.

If we do not have these books in one fiscal year, the wait will have exceeded the length of the American Civil War, as well as any four-year presidential stint, and the timeframe of America's involvement in WW2. Just saying.
