Just received this set but regarding Batman, I noticed on the original Black Friday thread there was a post about an incorrect track title.
I think it was disc 2, track 24 "Joker's Muzak" should have been "The Truth".

Is that correct? Never knew it was wrong before.

According to whom? Danny Elfman? Warner Bros? 'Cus that's where we got our info from, amigos. If that's what the track is called according to them then that's what the track is called and that's what we put - JOKER'S MUZAK. That's what the track is called.

It was just someone in the other thread asking if the track names had been corrected that got me wondering. Shouldn't believe everything I read on the internet lol.

Have to say that the sound on this is a big improvement on the original release. Still not perfect maybe, but much easier on the ears. The music is still as fabulous as when I first heard it.

According to the officially published sheet music, that track is "The Truth".

We address this in the notes, but I'll clarify further here.

In 2010 when Dan Goldwasser, MV and I were producing the first Batman release for La-La Land Records, we did not have access to the printed score. We had other documentation, including rudimentary spotting notes, indicating cue titles and lengths of tracks. It wasn't a detailed breakdown. I've seen spotting notes broken down to the frame. The Batman spotting notes weren't anywhere near that detailed.

Those sheets indicated a cue called "The Truth" with a running time of 10 seconds followed by "Joker's Muzak", which had a running time closer to the unused 10m1 cue we had. We decided that it must be "Joker's Muzak". Time has proven us wrong on this, but for this new release we were not allowed to alter the tracklist. So "Joker's Muzak" remains, but if you read the liner notes you can see we addressed it.

And if you want to sequence it properly, play it before disc 1, track 20.

Something else occurred to me as I think back to 2010 and working on this score. The first cue heard in reel 10 is a source cue, adding further to our theory that 10m1 was "Joker's Muzak". It wasn't until I saw the printed score that I realized we goofed, but as explained, based on all of the material we had in 2010, our theory fit the available facts.

On the plus side, it sounds better on this new release.

I always suspected that Neil took after Ricardo Montalban...

I often flex my pecs when discussing unused cues. It's a nervous twitch.

Not only do I now have wonderful copies of Shaft and Star Trek Enterprise which I will be listening to now, but LLL also replaced the Enterprise cover which was mangled in the mail!

Just wanted to give a shout out to the folks at LLL - not once have I ever had an issue of anything going wrong and them not tripping over themselves to help me fix it. They're really some the best guys around. Kudos, and Merry Christmas.

Wow, USPS and Canada Post must really be working overdrive for the holiday season. My shipment from LLL containing Batman, Passion, and Enterprise was accepted by USPS on the 6th and it was delivered this morning, free from any customs (though that's the norm for me, 99% of the time). Predator 2, shipped from Varese a couple days earlier, was also delivered today. These will give me a lot to listen to during my 2 weeks off at Christmas.

1. The Olive Garden**(§§) 4:17

I haven't seen THE PASSION since it came out in 2004, but I honestly have no memory of Jesus eating at Olive Garden in this movie. Is it a deleted scene? Did they shoot it at the one in the Westfield Mall in Culver City? And how did Gibson handle the unlimited breadsticks issue?

The liner notes cover this, John. The scene appears only in the Coke-branded edit made for schools, similar to the edits made in the Pepsi version of Glory. Replacing the crucifixion with an extended Last Supper sequence, Gibson posits quite heavy-handedly that Jesus created the idea of unlimited breadsticks. It goes on way too long, naturally, and during this extended montage - in which four courses are served - one of the Apostles says directly to the camera in Aramaic, "Good times, great salad." Then the rest of the group finishes in unison with, "Olive Garden" in English. Everyone laughs heartily.

While the crucifixion sequence was removed, the film cuts immediately from this last supper and into a scene that features a bloodied Christ, with no explanation as to what happened between the Olive Garden and now. This edition has since been taken out of schools, as many of the students wrongly believed that Jesus was just a messy eater.

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST is just wonderful. Thanks La-La Land !

Best release of the year with EMPIRE OF THE SUN, THE ABYSS and PREDATOR 2.

The scene was ultimately shelved as a result of Gibson threatening to burn the whole place down after receiving a wrong order on lunch break.

No, I'm actually in Toronto. Usually it takes 1.5-2 weeks for me to receive a first-class parcel from LLL.
