Anybody know the music that opens and closes this super obscure demonstration pilot?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YJWU7fggyU

No composer credited.

BMI has a project by that name listed for Grusin, but that's a 1997 film.

ASCAP has a project with that name listed for Sidney James.

Anybody know what the pieces of music from this TV special are? No composer credited, I assume it's a track job:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3BCqcDyVLs

0:20 in. and 1:41:40 in.

The first is "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Forget the composer.

The second, I don't know.

Could be.

The track is titled "Space Control."

1:41:40 is Holst’s “Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age” from The Planets. Scroll to about 5:08:

Holst must be a library composer. I don't have any soundtracks by him.

I have some very strong words in response to this. But I'll refrain.

Easy mode activated:

Starting at 0:46, this music sounds so familiar but I can't place it and it's driving me mad.

It's probably super obvious. Please halp.

I have two more.

The opening/closing music to this old documentary TV series. No composer is credited (Christopher L. Stone gets credited for "music selection", so it's presumably a track job):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKsjpJoTjUw (times: 0:08 in and 22:16 in)

It's about cats, so if you love cats, you might want to watch it.

And the music for this old car commercial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRO5t-fnw40 (Starts: 44:37 in)

I can't help you, but that is killer 70s music, and as a cat lover, I will have to watch this!

I think your second link about the car commercial may have been incorrect.

The commercial sounds like a Les Baxter knockoff, probably recorded for a library.

Here's a Les Baxter track in a similar groove, to get you by until you find the composer and title.

I listened to the pre-credits opening two minutes, and I'd bet a pint of warm beer that it's a mix of Dave Grusin and Quincy Jones. But since the imdb credits neither, I'll bet only a half pint.
