To save me having to study this entire thread, is there any reason to suppose it won't be the expanded Conan the Destroyer that they've apparently been working on literally for years?

"The word "something" was also used in his Facebook post. Something is definitely coming..."
----------------------------------

SOMETHING WONDERFUL!

2010 (David Shire) - 1984 ??

Absolutely!

Check out the "2010 David Shire Expanded" thread and user 'rob2004canada' states on July 4, 2016 that the score "is pretty much one of my last remaining holy grails".

Rogers' additional clue is using the word "gods" as in "My God, It's Full Of Stars". And then there's the two "somethings" clues. As in the exchange between Dave Bowman, the extremely old version, to Heywood Floyd (Roy Scheider) "You See, Something Going To Happen". Heywood: "What...What's Going To Happen?" Bowman responds "Something Wonderful".

Now we can all sleep a lot easier.

Why are people so convinced it's "An American Tail"? Because Roger's clue uses the word "something" and the big song from that film uses the word "somewhere"? If so, I'm not putting money on it.

Me neither, I don't see any connection as much as I would like it to be true.

Those are better arguments than the "some" thing that I mistakenly thought was it.

Yavar gives me hope again!

On the Intrada board:

"I think the word 'some' has to come into this somewhere."

Roger: "You're reading way too much into that. I didn't post any clues. Just a few facts."

“Just the facts, ma’am.”
Gotta be Dragnet then. smile Kev agrees that 1987 could be mid 80s!

J/k but if it weren’t for this new ‘clue’ of no clues, 2010 seemed to have been the best guess. I’d be up for retiring my LP.

Update from Doug Fake at Doug's Corner at the Intrada site:

Tidbits, Teases and Taste Treats. Three terms the late Len Engel, veteran music editor at 20th Century Fox and friend to Jerry Goldsmith, would use in descriptions of various musical comings and goings in his work with Intrada, which was pretty extensive back in our early years. The taste treat comes this Tuesday, February 12. We’ll have our newest CD available on that day and it’s a good one. A nice expansion of an 80’s hit by one of our favorite composers. Melody and action galore! Check out our sound samples and view the artwork and contents on Monday the 11th, late in the afternoon our time.......
