Except The Witches of Eastwick Perseverance didn't do us any harm.
It did, in the sense that MV at LLL said they had previously asked for a license to expand the title, and Warner Music forgot about their request and gave Perseverance the license, which tied up any possibility of expansion until their license expires.
Every score that Varese releases that they don't already own in perpetuity is a waste of time, since other labels could do that title instead while Varese focuses on the perpetuity titles. Whether it's an Encore or Deluxe Edition is irrelevant, both kinds of releases take a certain amount of time.
I get where you're coming from and I kinda agree, but no way would I call Dracula: The Deluxe Edition "a waste of time" even though it wasn't a perpetuity title.
I THINK we might be getting set up for the biggest let down since RETURN OF THE JEDI!
The Phantom Menace was a much bigger let down.
And personally I won't be let down by this Club batch as long as there is a Goldsmith or Poledouris title in it.

I was refering to the Witches of Eastwick incident as the only harm they did to us. My sentence may have been weirdly constructed. By the way, I once sent Perseverance an e-mail asking them about the expiry date - no answer.

I fully agree.

I have no idea what that random string of letters mean. You might want to get your keyboard fixed Mutant. So to get back on the subject, for some reason I think that U.S. Marshals would be a good release for this next batch...

oh well... nevermind... maybe next time it will be something interesting for a change and WHAT a shame that instead of expansion of such a lovely score it is just another Encore... :-/
Two othes? Well... one of them is certainly interesting and nice to complete the trilogy... the other probably one of the weaker scores of the composer... but still probably I'll get all three eventually...
Looks like I gotta shell out the big bucks for The ‘Burbs.
It's still possible there might be a "30th Anniversary Edition" or something. Brundlefly posted here about unreleased film versions of cues that could further expand and fill out a disc in the future. I suggested it to Varese on FB and pointed out how much copies of the DE were going for on the secondhand market. So cross your fingers...

Before calling it a shame, Lokutus, are you even sure that there was more music with which to expand the original 1991 album? It's possible that the score was short enough that Jerry allowed Robert Townson to just release every cue. When Roger F. watched the film some years back to research any unreleased music, he found no music in the film that wasn't on the CD, so unless you know of unused cues or alternates I think this IS the whole thing. And I for one am very happy to get a reissue of this long OOP and rare Goldsmith album.
