Link for Canada - says it will be available in January 2022 - but Amazon.ca usually has delays in receiving stock sometimes.

The decision behind a CD release for a current film score is so random and impossible to predict.

The link directs you to the 2016 score…

My mistake.

Based on those two cues, as well as the mini-pufts scene (which is possibly a lead up to the "Mini-Pufts" track above?), so far this sounds like an adaptation score done right. It's great to hear Bernstein's music, and Simonsen's original material - again, so far - seems stylistically consistent with Bernstein's score (or aspects of it), which is pleasing. Great use of the Ondes Martenot in "Mini-Pufts" as well as another instrument I recognize from the first film (ARP Odyssey? I recognize this distinctly '80s "bleeping" sound from Richard Band's "TerrorVision" as well). "Lab Partners" is a very good variation of Bernstein's original "Ghostbusters" theme, with a slightly slower tempo than we're used to. Looking forward to hearing more.

Finally! A Ghostbusters sequel score that honours the musical continuity of the original. These two cues sound fantastic with the synth and ondes martenot.

Wonderful news about the CD release from Sony Classical. Just pre-ordered.

I know in America you guys seem to be getting these crap CDR ‘on demand’ discs from Sony, but the European editions have largely been properly pressed CDs (like the recent Venom 2 for example).

In the spirit of all Ghostbusting I just purchased Edelman’s GB II and loving it. This release took far too long. Can’t wait to hear Simonsen’s Afterlife.

Just saw the film. Enjoyed it a lot (although I have a few reservations about it). Bernstein themes work well when they're incorporated into Simonsen's material, but when they just re-use a cue from the original, it completely took me out of it.

Just back from the cinema. I enjoyed the film a lot, it is a good example how to make a movie built on nostalgia. Simonsen' score was wonderful, I haven't met a score in a Hollywood mainstream movie in ages that sounded so '80s!

Says the Playlist review, "Composer Rob Simonsen does a superb job at imitating John Williams ..."

Anyway, thought the film (like the Playlist comment above) was a misfire. Can't imagine anyone watching it twice.

Hilarious. This reminds me of the old Napster downloading days, when everyone film score that was uploaded, no matter what film, John Williams was always listed as composer. There are people out there who either think Williams scores all movies or they just can't manage some simple research!

The score is tremendously fun and so good, nice homage to Elmer Bernstein's themes

One of my favorites of this year, so far.

Unless it was something spooky or quirky, then it was Danny Elfman.

I concur the score was handled well. All familiar elements were present with new stuff. Credit to Peter Bernstein as Music Consultant - F.A.B! The film was fun but sincere.

I'm so looking forward to this film, it will be the first time I've been to the theater in over two years!

As a matter of fact some of the score did remind me of John Williams. Some other parts of Horner. That's why I thought the entire score was a wonderful '80s homage.

100% agree with this. I will go as far to say I think the 2016 is better. I read some reviews of the film that were spot on - not going to get into it - but I hope anyone going to see it has a good time.
