Trailer looks great! Love the whole retrofuturistic Epcot-vibe from set design to score. Weird that they the only one of the four of them of whom they didn't show superpowers is Mr. Fantastic himself.

I could only assume that it is because the VFX work just isn't as polished as they would hope. Buildings and vehicles, fire, rock man, and lady turning invisible FX are old hat by this point and it feels like the kind of physics and verisimilitude for Reed's abilities haven't really been nailed in live action.

Knowing what we know now, these countless VFX teams work hard and to the bone for crunchtime hours on end up until the minute the movie is released.

Apparently the music in the trailer has morse code (I didn't notice). The code according to this article is RADIATION.

I don’t hear the morse code in the trailer. Only in that pre-launch announcement which doesn’t have any score, just sound effects.

Also: Ben Grimm’s remarks about Herbie’s sauce are a wonderful metaphor on how I felt about Giacchino’s scores these last few years big grin. Let’s hope he adds some zip!

Still looks great to me. Highly recommend the FANTASTIC FOUR: LIFE STORY comic to everyone, looks like it was a solid inspiration for the film story.

This movie is going to be a disaster, from the terrible casting of Pedro Pascal as Reed,to the other actors saying its going to explore gender politics (Sue is clearly going to be the leader) to the gender swap of The Silver Surfer.

Also,it seems that Pedro Pascal has gone all Rachel Zegler and seems intent on insulting over half the population of the U.S. (He needs social media lessons from Tom Cruise on how to conduct oneself in public )

Looking forward to a new Giaccino superhero score though.

Looks the part to me.

Turn off the YouTube rage mongers who make money off you being unhappy.

to the gender swap of The Silver Surfer.

Shalla-Bal is a character in the comics…

I think any of us with siblings would want to be as supportive as Pedro Pascal is of his sister.

Suffice it to say — people with very loud megaphones have a vested interest in keeping you mad and they might not be the best sources of news on Fantastic Four.

Thanks. Been lurking here for 25 years and never posted. The cranks have gotten crankier over the years.

Excited for the score, though.

yes, correct spot-on still_not, just keep in mind that guy that posted that joined March 22 of this year. The trolls are often fresh here, though we have a small pool of veterans that continue to try

Reed Richards wasn't Chilean or had a mustache in the comics. I don't mind Pedro Pascal as an actor. I think he's been good in what I've seen him in, but when I think of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic I do not think of Pedro Pascal.

to the gender swap of The Silver Surfer.

Shalla-Bal is a character in the comics…
I didn't know there was another version let alone a female version of Silver Surfer till after the casting of this movie. Even the actress when she was offered the role thought the Silver Surfer was supposed be a male character. Yet she still took the role. This character is also supposed to be the lover of Norrin Radd aka Silver Surfer. However, in an alternate universe she became Silver Surfer instead. Anyways I'm pretty sure when fans and comic readers think of Silver Surfer Shalla-Bal version doesn't come to mind. Plus Disney/Marvel should've waited another movie before bringing in Galactus and the Silver Surfer anyway.

I doubt this will deliver for me, which is a shame because the previous films from Fox didn't exceed my expectations and fell short to put it nicely.

I am disappointed that the above comment exist. In one section, you criticize the casting because the actor isn't white and doesn't reflect the source. In another section, you claim that a character is confusing because you assumed that fan of the source won't know the character, (not talking about mainstream audience). And then you assert to know better that Marvel doesn't know what it's doing because you believe there is a better way. And then the comments ends with a sentiment that assert, "because it didn't work before, it won't work again".

This is the type of fandom that ruins things for everyone.

Agree to disagree on the well-chiseled good looks of Pedro Pascal.

And it’s hard to take issue with the MCU choosing someone besides Norrin Radd as the Herald of Galactus. They’ve been doing their own thing since they made Jarvis an AI.

Regardless - Shalla Bal isn’t a gender swapped anything.
