Would this be a bad time to announce my new label that I'm starting up. Great news, DMD! I take it no one else on earth wanted to release "The Hearse"?

Not only am I announcing my new label, I'm also announcing my first releases! At last! The long-awaited reissue of Cherry 2000! Plus, a World Premiere! The complete score to Dog Day Afternoon!

Didn't LLL indicate at the beginning of the year that we'd be getting a new John Williams release this year (implying just ONE Williams release)?? Well now that we know it's 1941, I guess that finally puts an end to the persistent rumors of an expanded Hook coming from them this year. IIRC they just posted a list of composers who they would be releasing scores by this year, with no indication of how many scores for each would be released... and they've already done two Goldsmith's now so far this year, with a third (Forever Young) revealed in this thread, so more Williams is perfectly possible.

It's important to look past 1941 and focus on the score they're not releasing.

Bruce, MV did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong, and I don't think you're going to find anyone in here that takes your side. A title came in early, so they decided to sell it now rather than make us wait till August. Sounds 100% fine and indeed nice of him to me! The thing is, Bruce, you blew up your own spot right here in your many posts. First you are trying to say that this announcement somehow hurt sales of your most recent title, but then you go on to say that you release titles every two weeks like clockwork regardless of what else is going on. If that is true, then it shouldn't matter what or when MV is able to announce and release titles. So your argument holds no water. And shame on you for clogging up MV's announcement thread instead of contacting him privately about this matter. Honestly it reflects poorly on you, and your label, and makes me want to reconsider buying future Kritzerland releases.

...and makes me want to reconsider buying future Kritzerland releases. That's going too far. Bruce was happy to endorse THE GOLDEN CHILD and said he plans to buy it. The great thing about this niche market is that the guys producing the CDs love film scores as much as we do.

Things I learned today while reading this thread: Bruce Kimmel (haineshisway) is a dick! Seriously, Bruce, MV did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong, and I don't think you're going to find anyone in here that takes your side. A title came in early, so they decided to sell it now rather than make us wait till August. Sounds 100% fine and indeed nice of him to me! Honestly it reflects poorly on you, and your label, and makes me want to reconsider buying future Kritzerland releases. You'd be surprised how many people completely understand and take my side, but that's neither here nor there and we will have to agree to disagree on this topic. Obviously what happened today is par for the course and is not going to change and that is why there is no point in contacting anyone - people do what they want to do and when they do then others certainly have a right to comment on it. And I totally understand that most people in THIS thread don't even take the time to try to understand why someone might be irked and I knew that going in. As to not buying future Kritzerland releases, that would be your choice - certainly you've never purchased one CD from our site, at least under the name Jason LeBlanc. And looking at a list of your favorite scores I cannot see that we would ever be one of your favorite labels anyway. The Dick

Bruce has a point. LLL's release dates are very shoddy, but I appreciate MV's posts because it gives me notice of what there is to come. It could be next week, or months down the line, but I always see them as good news. If I wanted Drango, and then all of a sudden LLL is coming out with four scores that I want, of course I'm going to hesitate. I think it all comes down to unit size though. People shop based on how long they think a title will be available. I assume Drango is somewhere around 1,000 copies? If someone wants that score, I don't think an announcement of a 5,000 copy release will completely negate that sale.
