The CD doesn't do the score true justice... I agree, and I also prefer the isolated track overall... but it's worth pointing out that it, too, doesn't do the score true justice! There is some good/better music on the album which wasn't used in the film and therefore isn't on the iso. There's some good detailed discussion about this at JWFan...an example: "Regardless, 2:28 to the end of the “Tuk Tuk Chase” OST track is one of my favorite spots on the album, and I’d even go so far as to say one of my favorite things from him in years. I was bummed it mostly didn’t make it into the film, but this is one of those cases where I think JW absolutely nailed the album track. So thankful that he put it on there." https://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35614-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny-blu-ray-to-feature-isolated-score-track/&do=findComment&comment=1997619 This is essentially a Phantom Menace situation, where we have two imperfect and incomplete sources each with advantages over the other. The mixes are different between the two and the Blu-ray iso track is at a very slightly different speed, so even trying to combine them together is tricky. Hopefully one day this score and all the other Indiana Jones/Star Wars scores get the Mike Matessino treatment. Yavar

Jay explained just a little further down in that JWFan thread: "The OST album presents the music as recorded. But blu rays present films at 23.976 frames per second instead of 24 frames per second, so the music in the isolated score is slightly too fast... the speed difference is soooooooooo slight it's nothing anyone would really notice... until you're trying to line up cues visually for editing." Yavar Ah, I hadn't thought of that, thanks! I think I've read that some Blu-Rays or 4K UHD Blu-Rays do present movies at full 24fps and not NTSC 23.976fps. Not sure how prevalent that is though.

I collect a lot of Blu-rays and 4K sets and rip the all to my PC; I've yet to come across a single release that is presented at 24fps. Every single one I own is at 23.976fps. Blu-ray does support 24fps, but if there are any releases that take advantage of that, there's not many of them. Which is pretty strange considering most if not all of these films are shot and edited at 24fps.

after six weeks of waiting i am now the proud owner of "Return of the JEdi" i am so lucky What do you mean? People are getting SW Disney releases in error when ordering DoD. One bloke got the actual damn Dial in this thread somewhere! Oh, wow, they order Dial of Destiny and get Return of the Jedi instead? That is bizarre.

I was one of the lucky people who could order during the first batch - then the package got lost, found and sent back to Disney. I requested they send it out again, which they did. In October. I´m still waiting.

Not a problem for those who say all John Williams scores sound the same.
