Well, Zimmer did not have a lot of time - and he is massively popular. Who wants to have great, haunting melodies played by an orchestra when the factory can just pull some files from the library together and remix them?
I seriously hope nobody is getting their medical information from our resident forum troll.
I'm anything but a troll you fuck face
The gunbarrel sounds like this
either they have sampled in som david Arnold here
or else they have used his music in N. Dodds handwriting and newly recorded
whatever it is, it is not Zimmer
Zimmer does not even write this way
he usually splits up his string section
he rarely use woodwinds unless they feature as soloist on the score
he rarely uses percussion live - they mostly go synth and the standard for his percussion section is typical 2-3 players usually around the same instrument
By the way, one lucky man got his LP single, and confirmed that so called "instrumental" version is simply background music sans vocal, as I predicted previously...
Chase the Score is out. Some of you may remember the banned user named Marcato. Same dude. Buh-bye.
It's always a shame when that has to happen, but that user was being abusive and cursing at people and posting pseudoscience about the pandemic, so it needed to happen.
I have nothing against Zimmer, I'm sure he'll do a fine job. I would love Conti to do another Bond film, but that's never going to happen, my second choice is Arnold, I've become quite a fan latelly.
Zimmer's scoring of the scene didn't impress me at all, but your edit is awful, especially adding the Bond music in at the end. Completely killed the tone of the scene. If that was Brosnan grinnng, that is one thing, but Craig looking serious makes the music a parody.
Yes, this is (IMO) main problem with all Craig's films - they are too serious. And so whole franchise missed it previous charming - for me Bond films always should be bit bigger than real life, with more humour, etc. And music from previous 20 films was in that way and works fine. But as you say - now such music can't work well, due decision to make films more serious. But at same time it loss "spirit" of Bond, and turns to ordinary action movie. I mean - just change in recent films main hero name from James Bond, and you'll get another typical film...

I don't disagree although I like both types of Bond films. I actually defended Roger Moore's protrayal of Bond and I enjoyed the heck out of his films because they were larger than life and over the top. But then again...there is just so many times you can play the same guy. I think Craig is much more believable as a tough guy than someone like Moore and is a welcome addition.
Also, I think the difference in the Craig era is that they want to attract art directors and well respected directors to make Bond films. With guys like Mendes, Foster, and Fukunaga, the films are going to be more subdue and less comedic. Technically, it paid off imo. The Craig era contains some of the best cinematography and acting in the franchise, but in expanse of Bond elements and charm.
If anyone's interested, I did a "Mission Impossible 4/5 style" rescore of the No Time To Die Jimmy Fallon clip. I used motifs from the Billie Eilish song.
I'm a music composition noob so go easy on me hahaha
