You learn something every day! A lot of the Varèse Sarabande CDs we’re prepping for sale next Tuesday at FSMCDs are the German Colosseum variants.

About 50% of my Varèse Sarabande recordings are the Colosseum variants, which are identical except for the disc design (and some minor small print on the back covers). Contents are the same.

Didn't they also sometimes have different (occasionally superior) cover design? Or am I just thinking of the Japanese SLC counterparts?

Some of the Colosseum CDs had variants on the artwork.

For instance.

Thanks for confirming my recollection. Cool Starship Troopers cover!

While the German Varese releases sometimes had alternative covers to their USA counterparts, I generally preferred the Yank version.
And most times they were the same, save for the small print and copyright blurbs.
The more sought after and collectible were the Japanese SLC ones, which more often than not had superior covers and artwork.
They just looked cooler overall, with their Obi strips and exotic small print.

Prince of Darkness was a Colosseum label-branded product (as indicated in the top/right corner), not a Varese re-package, which explains the predominently German text.

True, but The Thief of Bagdad was also Collosseum branded and the covers seem near identical.

Came to say the same thing. I know it's a small operation and really appreciate Lukas' efforts at making this a resource and for making large collections full of many rare treasures available to us, but the website is just frustrating beyond unfortunately. I had been trying multiple times to get in and snag a copy of Die Hard 2: Deluxe Edition that I saw was listed on the website when it went live (which took multiple attempts to get on the website at all) and I finally got to where I could click Add to Cart and after a couple of tries it gave me the notice that all stock has been reserved.

Again, great resource and effort that is very appreciated, it's just unfortunate all of the technical bugs the site is plagued with.

Can someone explain how items suddenly become "reserved"? I don't see any such function on the site and it that's some Paypal thing it's grossly unfair. First come, first served.

Managed it - finally found a copy of Christopher Stone's Tale Spin CD. It's only been 15-20 years of waiting for an affordable copy. Hat tip to Ryan Paquet for letting me know.

$13 shipping to the UK is very good too.

I think when someone adds it to their cart, it becomes "reserved" so they can continue shopping and not have to worry about it getting sold while they shop.

But I think it should be for a shorter amount of time, like 30 min. It's like 6 hours or something now.

Do we really need to click a second time to confirm what we wish to buy. Stuff kept appearing, then disappearing then appearing again. Weird. Weird. In the end I managed to get my order through so not a biggie.
