The site is crashing constantly. No luck ordering anything at the moment.

Ditto - I've given up.

Managed it - finally found a copy of Christopher Stone's Tale Spin CD. It's only been 15-20 years of waiting for an affordable copy. Hat tip to Ryan Paquet for letting me know.

$13 shipping to the UK is very good too.

Congrats.

Treated myself with Zimmer's FOOLS OF FORTUNE. Such a gem!

Came to say the same thing. I know it's a small operation and really appreciate Lukas' efforts at making this a resource and for making large collections full of many rare treasures available to us, but the website is just frustrating beyond unfortunately. I had been trying multiple times to get in and snag a copy of Die Hard 2: Deluxe Edition that I saw was listed on the website when it went live (which took multiple attempts to get on the website at all) and I finally got to where I could click Add to Cart and after a couple of tries it gave me the notice that all stock has been reserved.

Again, great resource and effort that is very appreciated, it's just unfortunate all of the technical bugs the site is plagued with.

We still have that Die Hard 2 CD! The site is working now.

What a nightmare this morning, I am so embarrassed.

The hosting company says I basically need to spend (another) eight grand to make everything work right.

Fun!

Not sure 8 grand is justified to eliminate a minor inconvenience.

The issue is that a lot of people using the site overloads it. So they have to build various caching systems (I don't understand it either) to handle that stress.

If I don't invest in this, every time we launch a sale it'll crap out and drive everyone nuts.

Not putting my hand in anyone's pocket but I would imagine these issues can lead to lost sales from people who are impatient or don't otherwise have time to wait for the site to find its equilibrium whenever new sales launch. In that way I would also imagine the investment will, at least eventually, pay for itself.

Funny how more money always fixes it. My sympathies, Lukas!

I got my hopes up and had it in my grasp! Die Hard 2 Deluxe (not original) was locked out/reserved in someone else's cart for 6 hours. I managed to get home in time and refreshed it right up until it became available again and - success! - was able to add it to my cart, where it now said reserved in my cart for the next six hours. I wasn't going to wait that long but thought great, went off to help take care of some other things with my family around the house I had to, came back ~15 mins later and added a couple of more items to my cart, and got this message when I tried to check out:

"Sorry, Die Hard 2: The Deluxe Edition is not in stock. Please edit your cart and try again. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

Queue sad face. Not sure if it was a glitch and it actually didn't become available again, which is why I'm sharing the experience if it was a glitch that could be remedied without the crazy price tag they're quoting you.

Still managed to snag a couple of nice titles. But, the search for Die Hard 2 (at a not outrageous price), or the hope it gets reissued, continues.

There was one particular title I really wanted, but when I tried to add it to my cart it said to try again in 2 hours because it was already reserved (presumably, in someone else's cart), so I periodically tried adding to my cart as the countdown continued and it would state "try again in 45 minutes," "try again in 18 minutes, "try again in 3 minutes," "try again in 34 seconds," etc.

Within seconds after the 2 hours was finally up, I tried to add it to my cart again and got a new message stating to try again in 6 hours (ha!), so I just gave up, and now it's gone. Oh well.

Replying to my own post from December 3, 2024, the title that slipped out of my grasp that time showed up again in today's sale and I was able to snag it, so if something similar happens to you, don't fret, as you may get another chance sooner than you think.

Last night for me was pretty chaotic with the Website timing out. Unfortunately 2 most wanted titles I was pursuing was lost:
THE CHALLENGE (Goldsmith- LLL)
NIGHT OF THE GENERALS (Jarre-Intrada)

I'm sure these will turn up in some other sale so no worries.

But still managed to get some great other stuff locked that had been on my wants list:

Starman-Varese
Lust for Life- FSM
Tai Pan- Varese Club
Ipcress File -MCA Japan
Lion in Winter -Varese
Airport-Varese
North by Northwest
The Chase

Plus a few more from last weeks sale:

How to Steal A Million-Intrada
The Going Up of David Lev -BSX

Seriously this a is great way to gather all those curiosities that you wanted but were afraid of the high market prices from Ebay and others as these are very reasonably priced even for very rare items.

Thanks to Lukas for this great way of getting these great collections to us.

Whoa, that's crazy money! Are you sure this soundtrack collection selling thing is worth it?

Hosting websites and traffic costs money, and the more traffic you get, the more money it costs.
And if you have a lot of peaks where a lot of people at once access a database individually at once, your server obviously need enough reserves to provide that.

I think I pay about $200/year for mine, but of course I barely have traffic.

Yeah, I hosted my website from my own server years ago (that's quite cheap, except for the initial but only one time cost of the hardware, which I had anyway) and never had any problems, but I had little traffic as well. Also, once you have not just HTML, but also scripts and databases etc. connected, traffic increases considerably.

Please accept my personal apologies...I am so sorry... I am working constantly to make the system better and more fair... it is very challenging when you have one of a kind items.

Thanks. No apologies needed. I’ve never had any issues ordering from your site up until this point. My guess is that with the site issues, the item was probably sold out already and I could have saved 10 hours of periodically checking to see if it’s been released from a cart.

I agree with the earlier post about shorter reservation periods. 30 min would be plenty when there are buyers with cash in hand waiting in line for an item. What’s to stop someone from locking up every item in the store for 6 hours to browse at their leisure with no real intention to buy?

Could posting the spreadsheet a day or two in advance be advantageous? Many visitors may be taking bandwidth by simply "window shopping".

Looking for some old Varese 47000 series. Does the list distinguish between the JVC - first pressings - and the US re-issues. Very relevant in this specific case.

Would Lukas even have the time to check for such details.
