The track title on the old composer promo is "AK, Colt and Mauser". It's possible the LLL release had to use what was written on an official cue list, and it was incorrectly written as "cold" on that list, so they were stuck with continuing the error. That kind of thing has happened before, which is why on LLL's Rosewood CD, the second cue in track 5 is labeled "War Drums", even though the actual name Williams gave it was "War Dreams". They were forced to follow the official cue list where someone had incorrectly written it as "War Drums", since that's it's official published name. It happens.

Blue Max arrived today and what a revelation it is. This is the best ever sounding version of the Blue Max ever released. I had both the Sony and the Intrada versions, but the new La La Land release shoots them down in flames Why should the sound quality of these two releases be actually miles apart? Did La La Land have access to different source material?

Having played all The Blue Max, I can no longer see any pressing reason for a re-recording. The sound of the "Intended Score" (Disc One) of the LLL release is excellent and clearly the best yet. Not for sound quality reasons, but personally, I'd be all up for a recording by the Tadlow team of this score. THE BLUE MAX (Varese Edition) was one of my first soundtrack CDs. I'd be thrilled to see a new recording of this score.

It's not all that long ago that the Intrada release came out.
