I am a Barry fanatic, have all what has been released and some more too.
But after listening to Peggy Sue for some weeks now, I must conclude that this is not a top Barry score. In fact I find it quite boring, and what I call Barry on autopilot...It just not that good!
Tell me, are you talking about the music as in underscoring the movie or the music as in the CD listening experience on its own?
Just talked with Todd and we have less than 30 left.
Great score do not miss out on this one kiddies!
Just got my shipping confirmation for an order placed on 10/14/2015, which is the longest time ever from ordering to shipping for me. This after I think I've changed my mind about that Nightmare on Elm Street box set due to the talk of scratched discs.
Yes indeed. My first listening was when I received it for Christmas last year. Oddly enough was playing it just the other day. I think it's a wonderfully nostalgic and hopeful score.
That probably doesn't make any sense but I think I know what I mean!
Yes this baby is long gone. Hope folks picked this up. Still one of my all time favorites by John Barry.
I hope this demonstrate to Varese's powers that Barry's titles could sell well. So, maybe we can hope for more Barry titles from Varese catalog? Especially I hope for Jagged Edge - you know that I'm not so fond of "all-synth" scores, but this one (thanks to YouTube!) really changed my mind. So I really want to have it on REAL CD!

I suspect further Barry releases depend on rights restrictions and availability of material. Unfortunately, many Barry master tapes appear to have been destroyed, and many are simply inaccessible due to the companies concerned (think Bond).
Jagged Edge is a real possibility. We know Varese pay attention to requests from this board because they released Predator 2 last year. So they must know Jagged Edge is another oft requested score. Perhaps in their Christmas batch?
Howard The Duck is a possibility I suppose. No one at the labels has ruled that one out.
I can't see any further releases of 60s/70s Barry material, though. I suspect the future lies in 80s/90s expansions.
Well if you ask me - would you like to have almost 49 min. of great Barry music but with brickwalling or just original ~15 min. (without it), I still prefer to have more music, even with brickwalling
