Boy, I just listened to a few of the scores on this album tonight, it is stunning how good some of these scores are. Christopher Young's "A Matter Of Minutes" is wonderfully Bartókian and is just about a spiritual sequel to Goldsmith's music for "Time Out" for the movie.

I see TWILIGHT ZONE 1980 is currently sold out, I don't know if that's good (all copies gone) or bad (no interest), but as I've said before, overall, this is as good a TV anthology as they come. Too bad if there won't be more Twilight Zone TV scores. I don't even know what other treasures the series might have had to offer... This set contains scores by Basil Poledouris, Craig Safan, etc., I remember there was an interesting score by Merl Saunders for the Friedkin directed "Nightcrawlers".

Sadly, the Intrada CD sold very poorly. They discounted it, and eventually unloaded the copies they had.

As for Saunders' score for "Nightcrawlers," the good news is an eight minute suite was released on this Silva Screen CD:

https://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zone-Grateful-Dead-Saunders/dp/B0000241AL/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1550008735&sr=8-1

The bad news is the two used copies on Amazon are listed at $455. I can't believe anybody's buying at that price (I'd sell mine!), so look around and you might find one.

Yeah, I'm afraid so I heard.... Which is a real shame, because that set is wonderful; lots of variety, top notch film scores, some could play the way they are directly as concert miniatures, right out of the box so to speak. I don't regret paying full price for it when it came out. Great sound quality, too. This is as good as TV scores get, and there were at least some top name composers on the rooster. I wonder why it sold comparatively poorly.

Ah, thanks, I did not even know this existed. :-) But ok, no thanks, not at that price. :-D

If it had Williams or even Jerry it would have sold better.
But the TZ reboot was a cult item unlike the original

Listening to this again (some really great stuff on here) and parts of Fred Steiner's A DAY IN BEAUMONT (CD3-Track1) sounds a lot like Bruce Broughton music to me.

I guess he got caught copying Hermann and decided to latch onto a new ' host".

Why are you wasting time posting here in the first place?

Posting about a defective album on a thread for that very release? Especially when some people haven't got their copies yet and might get one themselves (very small chance, but it could happen)? Forewarned is forearmed.

Um… how exactly would anybody be forearmed .....

" fore ARMED"?
When did this become a discussion about football?

The Schiffy Malaprop

It wasn't my word, but it's also used correctly. It's not a malaprop. It's a prop.

Ok. You're excused.
But....
Technically the grammatically superior choice is " how would we be forewarned "
Next time!

I am bummed that it didn’t sell well. I was hoping for future volumes. Sometimes I hate being a fan of a niche of a niche of a niche. frown

Okay, it's on. Don't bring a rhyming dictionary to a grammar fight.

"Forearmed" means prepared in advance for an undesirable future event. My question was exactly that – how would anybody be so prepared?

One could be forewarned (told in advance of it) without also being forearmed (prepared to deal with it). I was referencing the latter.

To quote Kelly Bundy, "To be forewarned, is to have four arms."

Yes, of course, Williams and Goldsmith are as big a name as they come, and along with greats like Horner, Kamen etc., the AMAZING STORY sets had them all. Musically, the TWILIGHT ZONE 1980s set is up to par though. I admit I didn't expect it to be and just bought it on the whim that I might like it (didn't remember the music all that much). Boy, am I glad I got this set.

I'm not an editor. Should I become one? Please advise.

Despite the great talent, AS didn't impress me.
I sold my copy.
