The shipping notices haven't been received yet by anyone, I think, but let's all be patient, we've lived years without this expanded edition, another few days won't kill us.

If we get the shipment today we'll start today. Literally we are all ready to go, just waiting on a TON of boxes to arrive at the office then we can start sending these out to you. I'll let you all know when we start shipping, never fear smile

Varese really needs to start announcing titles when they actually have stock. Not the other way around.

Why? Lalaland announces their titles way in advance. What's the difference?

Thanks for the update DMD. smile

I'm in that "impatient-but-patient" thing when I'm really looking forward to a CD release.

I have to say, Varese has been knocking it out of the park on some of these recent Deluxe Edition releases.

Gremlins 2, The Abyss, Cocoon: The Return, Back to the Future III, Gremlins 2, Predator 2, Star Trek: Nemesis, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and now Starship Troopers...

Way to go on these releases alone.

There are still some titles I need to pick up from you guys (budget permitting), such as the Spies Like Us Encore release (not sure what happened to my original CD).

Yeah but LLL doesn't take orders until the title(s) are in stock and ready to ship. No?

Varese really needs to start announcing titles when they actually have stock. Not the other way around.

When the labels keep upcoming titles secret, some plead "Please tell us what's coming, so we can plan!"

When they announce titles in advance, some demand "Why can't we pre-order them?!"

When they make them available for ordering in advance, some complain "Don't put them up for order until they're in stock!"

I mean really, what's the problem here? Varèse is at the mercy of the plant. Is waiting a few more days really too much for you?

Varese doesn't charge until they actually start shipping, from what I understand.

Anyway, whenever they are available to order, it costs the same, and ships around the same timeframe, so it makes no material difference.

By allowing orders ahead of shipping (pre-orders really, common for Amazon, BestBuy and other retailers online and countless brick-and-mortar stores for other media) keeps things efficient.

They don't have a bunch of CDs everyone wants yesterday sitting there waiting for the order process to begin, and that makes the chain from manufacturer to Varese to us faster.

Fair enough.

According to their website, "All pre-orders are charged at the time of the order," which has been my experience. Not a complaint, just an observation.

They didn't use to charge, but they started doing it whenever they changed their shopping system. I was definetly charged when I ordered this batch.
And I haven't gotten any sort of shipping notice...

Indeed. But if you don't care for that, an easy solution is to wait to order until you know they're in stock and shipping.

Still waiting on the shipment... Trust me I know how agonizing this is. I remember waiting for The Goonies to arrive at my door in Indiana. That last few weeks was brutal to me. And yes we are at the mercy of the plant, but also UPS. I want to put in Starship Troopers and listen to it just as much as all of you. Also, curious to hear the extra music in Joe Vs. The Volcano.

Varese has in the past announced a date and then silently without telling anyone changed the dates on their website when they don't meet that date.

The problem is Varese doesn't seem to meet their initial dates, so they are better off not announcing anything until they have stuff.

Shipping week of June 6th. We are at the mercy of the manufacturing plant and UPS. I want these in just as much as you all so I listen to them. Thought I'd give you a heads up my fellow film music friends.

As a customer, I appreciate knowing when things like shipping dates change. BUT as a sales associate (and currently acting manager) of a small uniforming and recreational equipment store (owned by the Boy Scouts), I know how these things work. Just like the guys at Varese, I was expecting a shipment of merchandise this morning. In my case, it probably left the warehouse later than usual because of the holiday on Monday. I don't know if that was a factor for Varese, but this stuff happens.

In the meantime you're free to gripe about things, but personally, I'd rather just spin some other album and make today as good as it can be WITHOUT Starship Troopers. It'll be here next week and I'll be just as happy to get it as I would have been if it had come this week.

Peter, thanks again for the updates. smile

Good advice, and advice we should all take...but a day without Starship Troopers is never as good as it COULD be. wink
