Very excited for this! One of Zimmer's most distinctive scores.
I really hope it has the orchestral version of the Melanesian chant that was used in the trailer, it's a staggeringly gorgeous theme, and it's not on the original CD. The chant itself is on the second chants CD, but the orchestral arrangement is breathtaking.
Well, I'm just scratching my head. The original CD is fine as it is. But I believe there was a "Vol. 2" of this, wasn't there (with more local songs from the region)? I'm guessing that's part of the package?
You are correct.4 and 5 below.
Possible play list:
Two orchestral arrangements of chants Orchestral arr of Faure In Paradise Unused Zimmer score OSt remastered Melanesian Chants remastered. ..maybe? Unused John Powell score? Classical pieces such as Faure and Ives? Brm ?
Thanks. I am more confused than ever. While fans here are mainly interested in the Badelt/Melanesian cue, they are obsessing over taiko drums and JTL! Maybe i should just get the b:::t ( i am kidding) . Brm
I can't wait until Tuesday when the usual bitching and moaning about not getting what you all have built up to expect happens.

Boy, was this post ever prescient.
Gee, at least the complaints are valid. Its not as if we are bitching because say, oh I dunno....BACK TO THE FUTURE finally gets released but its 'ruined' because " It's Been Educational " seques into CLOCKTOWER!

Well special thanks to the team at LLL, I've received my TRL set in time for my birthday tomorrow- and no customs charges either. Happy Birthday to me! I'll be pouring over this set as soon as I can and leaving word here soon about what I think of it.
(First impressions- lovely packaging, the replacement cover stored in a sturdy cardboard envelope and the first tracks of disc one simply sublime. Clearly this is Zimmer's original score prior to the tinkering with the mix and classical pieces being tracked in,so it isn't exactly what we all remember from the finished film, but its sounds wonderful so far. I appreciate this has been a bone of contention for some and I'm sure some material will be missing but from what I've already heard there is some wonderful music that I have never heard before, which balances out what may be missing. Well, I'll know for certain later).
