Thanks guys. Since they say there is in the end no guarantee to receive the CD, I'm hesitating for the time being but will think about it. How was your experience with the previous kickstarters ? That disclaimer is on all Kickstarter campaigns. It really comes down to whether you trust the source. In this case Leigh has a long track record of delivering, including for his past three successful Goldsmith Kickstarter campaigns — check the threads on them here and you will see there weren’t any issues. It really is just pre-ordering a CD at a $3 discount, at this point. Buy with confidence! EDIT: Only £103 left. Yavar

I can only echo what Yavar has said. There’s nothing to worry about here.

Or you can go for the lossless digital download option for only £12 and no shipping charge. That will come with a full PDF liner notes booklet. Yavar

Plus there’s still a soon-to-be-announced stretch goal score to fund, which will be a whole added session and add a lot of value to this for everybody… But I assume the hope is that say Music Box might carry the Intrada disc in France and that shipping could be cheaper than way. Yavar

I didn’t realize they charged that much more! So I guess it probably *doesn’t* make any sense to hold out until after the campaign for a CD, if you have the funds now, even if you’re in France. (Or again, maybe consider the very affordable and shipping-free lossless CD-quality digital download which will have the same liner notes content as a PDF, even though it may not have fancy Intrada design of their eventual CD…) Yavar

Yes, Music box may charge more for 1 CDs but with 2CDs their difference in price is MUCH SMALLER. Plus with about 1-2 EUR per CD shipping with larger orders hardly anyone can beat that. Add ZERO additional costs and extortions by Eu-nazis and their price is pretty much equal to large orders from Intrada. Plus Music Box's DHL shipping, which arrives the next day. Music Box: CD 32 EUR + 1-2 shipping on average = 34 EUR Intrada: 23 USD + whatever shipping in this case let's say 16 USD = 39 USD add exortions by EU Nazis, which in case of CZ is roughly 15-16 USD = 55 USD + 21% tax from ALL of it = 67 USD When I was still ordering from US, the shipping costs from Intrada with larger orders were about 4-5 USD, which would make it something like: CD 23 shipping 4 total 27 USD extortions 16 split between let's say 6 CDs: 2,6 ..... total 29,6 tax: 6 ------------- Final price with large intrada order: 35,6 USD per SINGLE DISC album these days. Which is pretty much equal to what is the final price from Music box, which zero hassle with those custom thieves etc.

Yes, I think so -- used synonymously with "customs thieves", I think Lokutus is simply railing against the authoritarianism of the egregious taxes placed upon imports. Really think we can let this go and celebrate the campaign passing 100% in less than six days. Looks like Leigh is preparing a stretch goal announcement for Wednesday (in Prague...so it might be late Tuesday for some of us, lol). I think you'll find it of interest, moolik, since it's another unreleased TV movie score. But speaking of which, let's get back to the important debate: I know Yavar will say "Hey wait a minute ,there are still some Goldsmiths left !" But only two for me INDICT AND CONVICT and DO NOT FOLD.... are of interest. Why is that? Do you really have no interest in Goldsmith's episodic TV work? Only feature scores matter to you? I do hope to get Indict and Convict and Do Not Fold, Spindle, or Mutilate one day... but hopefully original tracks. But what about THE WALTONS, one of Goldsmith's most famous themes and projects, and completely lost? I'd want a new 2CD recording of his six WALTONS scores (plus one original song) way, WAY more than either of those TV movie scores you mentioned. What about the six great scores he wrote for GUNSMOKE, which would fill a whole packed disc on their own? What about "1489 WORDS", Goldsmith's first masterpiece? And even if you only care about feature-length Goldsmith scores, there's all of his 1959-1960 output for PLAYHOUSE 90 -- each of his scores being essentially a TV movie score itself. Maybe these are scores you're unfamiliar with, but surely it wouldn't be the first time you bought a Goldsmith score blind without having seen the film? Yavar
