I'd REALLY temper your expectations for Moonraker right now.

I don't think anyone can accurately predict anything at all with the Bonds, especially now LLL have confirmed what was suspected - it is a very convoluted, complex situation with the different stakeholders and rights.

Anything we get is a wonderful gift from the score gods.

.

It is the only Bond original album to have included the "Gun Barrel" music (until License To Kill)

On Her Majesties Secret Service says hello.

It can say hello, but the original album didn't include the gunbarrel.

Cheers

There will be more Bonds - as confirmed by LLL in the comments above - but we can only guess which ones and when. Looking at EON's policy so far, and the fact that they claimed sales exclusivity for the first 3 months, I would only bet on round anniversaries of films every decade, i.e. 40, 50, 60, or possibly with less probability every five years, i.e. 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 years.

Spaceballs was released as the 19th Anniversary Edition, so if needed they can always settle on "anniversary edition" without pinning it to a certain milestone.

Last time I checked Spaceballs wasn't a James Bond film. It was a comedy anniversary number for a comedy film. EON aren't going to do that. IF there are any more they will be round numbered anniversaries, or less likely anything with a five.

3 of the best still missing : 1974 / 1977 / 1979. By the way, why they were able to do a very big expanded edition for Bacharach's Casino Royale ?

You do know that Bacharach's Casino Royale involves completely different people than the Eon 007 scores, right?

Cheers

yes i know. So those people took better care of their music ?

La-La Land Records, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, EON Productions and Universal Music Enterprises proudly commemorate the 60th Anniversary of 007 film GOLDFINGER, with a remastered and re-sequenced CD re-issue of composer John Barry's original motion picture score. The 1964 film stars Sean Connery as James Bond in his third turn as 007 and is directed by Guy Hamilton.

The bold GOLDFINGER orchestral score defined the mood and style of the entire series. The historic title song, sung by Shirley Bassey, packs a sonic punch that still hits as strongly today as it did six decades ago. Thrilling, dramatic, romantic, suspenseful, exhilarating - John Barry's GOLDFINGER has it all!

Produced by Neil S. Bulk, restored by Chris Malone and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this remastered CD release re-sequences the original album tracks into film order for the first time and includes additional material, including a mono mix of the title song that offers a different vocal performance by Shirley Bassey.

Much of this and then some was released on a 2-disc set in 1992 titled "The Best of James Bond 30th Anniversary Edition". It contains all the songs up to that time as well as out-takes, radio spots, etc. including Anthony Newley's lounge version of "Goldfinger". The first 3 notes of "Goldfinger" are the same 3 notes as "Moon River" which Newley and Bricusse pointed out to Barry.

Adam, can't you please give this idle speculation (as that's all it is) a rest?

Pardon me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a longer version of Dawn Raid On Fort Knox running at 6.43. It appeared on the 1987 Liberty/EMI EMS-1266 LP edition. Just surprised this version wasn't included on the new release if only to amp up the running time.

It seemed like LLL established a new album cover design for the expanded Octopussy and LALD editions. The coloured border around the edge. They did not follow up on it with this Goldfinger release, I wonder why?

The original music masters for CASINO ROYALE are long gone, so why would you say they "took better care of their music"? As previously mentioned, the expanded CD used stems from the DME as a source.

Are you sure that wasn't just a typo on the sleeve?

Track time typos are all over the place on Goldfinger LPs.

I would hazard a guess it's related to the new contract with Eon (the one that says going forward all releases must be made equally available on the 007 Store as well as LLLR for 90 days and all the back-and-forth MV mentioned). Perhaps Eon have different stipulations for altering the art this time around, such as full-bleed artwork, or something? But obviously just guessing. Maybe someone like MV will shed light on that.

EON have a 'policy', do they?

Yes, but I see that you can't read, and you accuse me again, so I've bolded below the passage from MV's comment:

Please note that our contract stipulates that Goldfinger and any future Bond titles will be sold exclusively through the 007 store and the La La Land Records website for the first 90 days of its release. Should there be any remaining stock of the agreed upon 5000 unit run then, and only then, are we allowed to offer the Bond titles to other stores. There was a lot of back and forth negotiating the terms of this deal with a lot of different parties involved.

In other words if you want to buy a Bond title then it's best to order it domestically through the La La Land website or overseas through the 007 store.

Thank you

MV

A new contract, a new arrangements, a new EON's policy.

It's really simple.....

The 50th anniversary border on LALD is gold because that's the stone for a 50th anniversary. The 40th anniversary stone is ruby, which is on OP. The 60th anniversary stone is a diamond and that didn't seem appropriate for "Gold"finger, but then using a gold border would seem weird as it's not the 50th anniversary. Therefore, no colored border.

While there is a pattern for Anniversary releases, I don't know if there is a "policy" as such.

The Anniversary releases indicate a preference, or at least a focus, but the 3 David Arnold score releases were not Anniversary releases, so Anniversaries are not the only possibilities.

Personally, I'll enjoy what comes down the line for the Bond scores and just build my personal archive of iconic greatness.

These scores are getting a lot of play time, and all deserve the respect EON and La-La Land are working to give them.

Exactly, in my wildest dreams, I never thought that we would get as many as three Bonds (only to date) from LLL in one year. Releases of the year!
