One time I found The Roots of Heaven LP at a record store. I bought it for $100 and sold it for $150 to a guy in Germany.

Yesterday I found the disc of "Stormy Monday" (Mike Figgis) for $1.00 American currency.

Today I found "Silk Road" (Kitaro) $1.00 / "Goldeneye" (Eric Serra) $2.00 / "L' Apocalypse Des Animaux" (Vangelis) $1.00

I've owned a copy of the Vangelis score on vinyl for a good many years. Very happy to find the CD (mint condition) in a junk store bin today.

Also found the discs of "Moving Lines" (Don Sebesky) 50 cents / "Don't Look Back" (Don Randi) 50 cents

I found Chinatown in the used CD store for $3.99.

Also found Jaws 2 at the same store, at the same time, also for $3.99. Then I found it AGAIN for $3.99, but didn't buy it the second time because I already had it.

I found a copy of JAWS 2 at Half Price Books last Sunday, for $5.99.

Maybe people are getting rid of it now because some one is about to release a limited edition version with more music. Who knows?

"Patty Hearst" score by Scott Johnson is one of my favorites. The films of Paul Schrader most always have exceptional scores. The film is damn good too. Portrays the "Symbionese Liberation Army" as basically a group of bumbling disorganized buffoons who got in way over their heads.

Found Silvestri's G.I Joe score as a cut-out for $4.99.

Mancini's "Gunn: Number One" for $10.

Somebody dumped a bunch of OOP anime score CDs. Picked up two scarce Space Battleship Yamato score CDs: Arrivederci Yamato and Final Yamato (3-CD set). Got the pair for $25 in nice shape. I rarely see used Yamato CDs, so I grabbed 'em.

Back in the good old days, I used to find good stuff fairly often. The big ones that come to mind were CONAN THE DESTROYER for around $6 and THE TERMINATOR: THE DEFINITIVE EDITION for $7. I was in ninth grade or so and awestruck that such things could be found in such a boring part of the world. Little did I know, my luck would not persist.

I love making the rounds of the used CD stores, pawn shops, and antique stores because they often don't know what they have. In the last six months I've found all the following for between $3.00 and $10.00; on top of many other scores that might not have the monetary value, but were certainly worth picking up:

Jerry Goldsmith's POWDER & THE EXPLORERS
James Horner's STAR TREK III
Pete Rugolo's THE FUGITIVE!!!
The FSM release of FANTASTIC VOYAGE!
Tangerine Dream's NEAR DARK
THE FANTASY WORLD'S OF IRWIN ALLEN VOL'S I, II, & V
Henry Mancini's EXPERIMENT IN TERROR & VISIONS OF EIGHT!
and most recently Georges Delerue's SILKWOOD for $5.99!

Oh, another great find I had was at a store called Vintage Vinyl. The four disc Stu Phillips Anthology of BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA for a mere $9.00!! My mouth hung agape for several days afterwards. A lot of fun music in that collection.
