The Intrada version is worth keeping if only for the simple reasons that it was a labor of love on everyone's part and even Frank Schaffner was there for the recording. I'll be keeping both versions side by side.

I was thinking about ditching the Intrada because now with the OST, I doubt if I will ever play it again.

UNBELIEVABLE !

I received my order TODAY of IITS

This after 4 days from ordering, over a holiday and over the weekend.

This is top notch service from FSM/SAE. Should I expect anything different? Well, no! But the fact that it came in this fast ... Bravo. Thank you!

I pulled overtime this weekend to make sure I could afford it, and damn it was in the mailbox today - rivaling Intrada service I'd say !

Headphones on, while the g/f watches American Idol - reading a nice thick booklet - bliss.

Lukas and Bruce, kudos for this release.

There are many little differences in this recording compared to the Intrada re-do. In particular, I can hear this little warbley thing Goldsmith does a lot -- I first noticed it during the Ilia-based music in STAR TREK. It's not flutter tongue, but it's in the woodwinds -- kind of this little quiet flutter. Anyone else notice this? Brilliant.

After listening to the crappy boot a few hundred times, the real deal arrived today and for the first time I noticed the little flutter thing you mentioned. What a great thing to hear this score in crystal clear sound, finally! This is one of the all-time best scores IMO.

I know Dana knows it already, but I cannot help but concur. It is one of Jerry Goldsmith's finest scores, simply enchanting. Sublime.

Stupendous recording, it is almost relevatory. The OST almost sounds like a different score than the re-recording, there is no comparison.

Much thanks, to Lukas, BK, and anyone else involved with this brillaint release.

LOL, "little flutter thing." I wonder what the techincal term is for this effect? wink

But Goldsmith really knew how to extract emotion from an orchestra unlike anyone else I have ever heard.
