Only Season One??? They could put the whole series on 2 discs. 160 minutes of cues that "showcase" and "exemplify" the show is all we need. Or deserve.

"Just one more thing" ...

Please include ‘Make Me a Perfect Murder’ (Season 7)

I can't find the post, but I'm sure it was years ago at the Intrada forum that Yavar said the complete scores to season one of "Columbo" would fit on a 2CD set, as he went through and timed the scores.

I disagree. The season 1 set is perfect. Season 1 has the best and the most memorable scores ever.

It's during season 1 that the musical template is set thanks to Billy Goldenberg and starting from the 1971 pilot "Ransom for a Dead Man" which ends up with the theme of Columbo played by a saxophone.

Furthermore, season 1 has the best ensemble of composers (Goldenberg/Mellé) and all the scores are excellent which is not the case with the remaining seasons. Even though season 2 and 3 are quiet strong because of Goldenberg’s artistical input. Past that, it is more or less bland because the maestro was gone.

If LLL releases one set or boxset, season 1 must be presented complete.

Columbo Soundtrack - Ransom for a Dead Man (1971) - Billy Goldenberg

[00:00] 01. Death do us Part
[01:56] 02. Burial at Sea
[03:49] 03. Ransom Drop
[05:37] 04. The Lieutenant & the Locker
[07:56] 05. Margaret returns
[10:46] 06. Leslie's Waltz
[12:28] 07. Cemetery Chat
[13:11] 08. Fear of Flying
[15:31] 09. Safe Landing
[16:23] 10. Margaret's Revenge
[19:18] 11. End Title

I'm all for complete releases. I was being sarcastic, as I believe THE INVADERS release was culled. We'll probably never know.

That score alone should be released complete.

I actually think season 2 and 3 are just as good as season one, and some of the scores from 2 and 3 are better than some of season 1's offerings. I agree about season 4-6, although there are still some gems like Forgotten Lady, Now You See Him and Last Salute to the Commodore. But you are forgetting the very criminally underrated (musically and just overall in general) final season 7. VII actually has fantastic scores for every single episode. Try and Catch Me, Murder Under Glass, Make Me a Perfect Murder, How to Dial a Murder and The Conspirators are all amazing and can hang with the best of season 1-3's scores.

I've gone through every episode for season I - III and working on the rest to see how much music was in Columbo. I am not documenting source music, as a lot of Columbo's source music (though not all) was actually just stock library music from Universal that was used on many of their other shows at the time, too. Season I clocked in at 146 minutes for me, which would just barely squeeze onto 2 discs (and this is not including source music).

Ah ... didn't realize you are referring to a typo.
Nonetheless, whatever TV series it is, La-La Land will cram the entire series' music onto 2 discs. smile
