I'm an Ifukube fan, but Mischiru Oshima is a close second. And Masaru Satoh for weird, wacky fun! I going to more Otani or Koroku (his theme for Godzilla 1984 is really, really interesting), Satoh is more a mixed bag to me, some of his stuff is more interesting than others.

Rubbish! For a lot of fans they are far from forgettable. Desplat’s one for the 2014 got a fair amount of praise and Bear’s score for KOTM was just brilliant, bringing his own voice in but incorporating fan favourite moments. Haven’t really heard the new one as I’m waiting to watch the film but the wee bits sounded promising. Still, Desplat's score still get hate to this day for 'lacking thematic', when is a really thematic score and is integrated really well in the movie (which is a really good Godzilla movie). As McCreary, really good score (as good as Desplat, IMHO), but is misserably buried under in sound effects and explosions, shame

Watched it this morning and really enjoyed the film. Even enjoyed the JXL score. Wish some of the orchestral stuff sounded a bit more organic but musically, I enjoyed his themes and motifs.
