James Horner's Troy, just the standard release (long enough at 75 minutes). I bought it about eight months ago (you can buy it for just a couple of pounds s/hand), well I had it for a few months without playing it, then I listened to the first track & it was a lot of wailing, so I didn't bother, & then a month ago I tried the second track, Troy & really liked that. So I just ripped the tracks I like, which tend to be the longer ones, The Wooden Horse And The Sacking Of Troy & Through The Fires, Achilles... And Immortality. I didn't like the film when I saw it at the cinema, but the longer version on Blu-ray plays better & looks stunning (it was an awful print at the cinema).

”I understood writing could be dangerous. I didn't realize the danger came from the machinery.’”
Naked Lunch (The Complete Original Soundtrack Remastered) - Howard Shore/Ornette Coleman

David Cronenberg’s bleak adaptation of William S. Burroughs 1959 novel of the same name was released in select US theaters 30 years ago today. The score is an interesting blend of Shore’s brooding, unsettling, melancholic style with Coleman’s Jazz background, which injects the score with a very Avant-garde noirish tone.
