Thanks Maurizio for sharing this SPACECAMP preview show from the JOHN WILLIAMS LEGACY web page.
https://thelegacyofjohnwilliams.com/2022/05/14/spacecamp-expanded-preview

This SPACECAMP expanded edition is a 35 years plus dream come true for me.
It was one of the last John Williams to-be-expanded scores from his glorious E.T. to AMAZING STORIES 80ies era.

I can't wait to have this in hands and in my CD player.
It will be a fantastic companion to AS's THE MISSION episode, one of my all time favorite.

Congratulations to the INTRADA team for this major CD release.

May they be reassured at INTRADA's that they are fantastic and that any sometimes too much negative statements around this forum (including mines I am afraid as I completely screwed up the thread with their LAST STARFIGHTER reissue) about any releases should never prevent them to go on and deliver such soughtafter holy grails.

We are all fans of that great stuff from our composer heroes and sometimes we shout it with too much passion or expectations, so we may be clumsy or disrespectful, instead of supporting the hard-working people behind the labels that allow us to get that stuff in our CD players although it's a very small niche market.

We actually are very fortunate that any physical soundtrack label does still ever exist in 2022.
It's not that much an obvious thing within this "all-gets-digital" era.

But as Roger wrote me a few days ago, “I decided to stop engaging on FSM for now. These folks don’t understand the economics, never will and don’t care” (he also acknowledged that a lot of people here were supportive, to be fair, but that it wasn’t enough for him to want to stick around for all the endless negativity).

Don't worry... I'm sure the next Intrada Kickstarter will be enough reason "for him to want to stick around". Hopefully he'll find the folks here "care" enough and are more than able to "understand the economics" of reaching into their pockets and handing out thousands of dollars to the label.

This is 100% true. I couldn’t have said it better myself Basil.

Also, I’m sure Roger appreciates Yavar sharing all of their messages on here. Either way, Intrada will be back begging for money soon enough.

As for Yavar lecturing everyone on inflation, this is the same guy who said in another thread he was having major tax issues and didn’t know why so I would encourage him to settle up with the federal government before talking about economics.

Why are you being a dick towards Roger and Intrada? I don't recall them being hostile towards you.[/

Questioning a repetitive album, how complete it is or even when it goes on sale is now being a dick? Don’t worry your precious Roger will be back when he needs money for his next album.

Your reply is the definition of "Being a Dick". Thanks for confirming.

Such hurt feelings. Time to enter the real world.

This is hardly trolling. For real, go take a look at other sites. Then you’ll know trolling.

Arguing about what? People don’t want to criticize labels? That’s arguing?

Criticizing the same questionable point again and again, trying to hammer it home so everyone agrees or gives in, is not arguing.

I don’t know about the politics behind all this but to be honest I don’t really care either - nobody is putting a gun at anyone’s head to buy output from labels like Intrada and I’m just grateful for them releasing gems like Space Camp. I really don’t care how much money they make, or if they are critical of their customers or eat kittens for brunch.

Hold on! Kittens for brunch? I would wager that they are a little too stodgy for brunch.

I'm still trying to figure out when to complete the purchase. JUMANJI and then THE LAST STARFIGHTER was also re-released but was there something new coming down the pipeline from Intrada or LLL this month?

Agreed. I also saw something about another expanded John Powell.

Waiting, waiting....

Well there goes my idea for a restaurant using Colonel Saunders’ recipe with cats instead of chicken. I was going to call it Unlucky Fried Kitten.

Roger says

Not only is Last Starfighter coming back this week, but due to my travels next week we are announcing next week's release this Friday.

Based on the reaction to Jumangi I imagine a sharp rise in complaints, so we can get those off everyone's chest early, ahead of the actual release. But this has been a grail release for some time, especially to get that Daedalus cue released. Similar to Monsignor, different mixes existed. So as with that release, one disc features the complete score from Armin Steiner's spectacular film mix, with a second disc featuring Len Engel's album mix we've all come to know and love. Finally it's all here produced under the love and care of Mike Matessino.

I’ll complain next week too, don’t worry. $31(?) for 40 seconds. Is that what we’re saying here?

No. What he is saying here is that the title is being reissued with a slight change. Buy it or don't buy it. They are not beholden to anyone to justify what they reissue or how they reissue it. Honesty is their hallmark.

I only ever had the original 14 track Jappo cd. So win, win.

I would have bought this except that Roger didn't tell us the exact hour it would be available to purchase for three whole days!

Also, he didn't explicitly state whether a CD he said was "complete" was complete.

Plus, Yavar's personal tax problems have proved that inflation isn't real, so why the high price?

What kind of way is that for a label to treat its customers?!

Ron, I was being entirely facetious. I am (like you) completely exasperated by the folks here who seem to want to live in a constant state of outrage and will look everywhere to find it.

That it didn’t come off as a joke means either that my comedy skills need honing (very possible) or that it’s impossible to parody things that seem to have devolved into self-parody.
