The biggest difference, if I'm not mistaken, between Giacchino's score and Broughton's is that Broughton scored only the cinematic bridges between the levels of the game. Giacchino's score was utilized through out the game - cinematics and actual gaming.

Exact. But the first association between symphonic score and video game was still made by Broughton.

So there was synth tracks in the game too? Which means, as I said, Lost World was the first FULLY symphonic score.

Man, I'm SO tempted to unload my three MoH discs while the going is good....but...but...

My thinking as well...I've got the first two, plus Frontline.

Here are a couple of press releases I found.

If you really want to get rid of 'em, I'll pay the S&H to my house! Never too many Giacchino scores. wink

Where is the official announcement for this box?

 Posted:   Mar 30, 2011 - 8:43 AM

La La Land doesn't officially announce ANYTHING until it is already in stock and shipping, so don't expect the OFFICIAL announcement until April 12th.

UNOFFICIALLY, MV usually makes a post on the boards here 1 week before a batch is scheduled to be released indicating what will be in that batch. Expect that on April 5th

Also, you can bookmark here to always have the latest, sourced updates:

Ah, I was referring to the unofficial announcement here in the board but I made a mistake concerning the weeks so I had expected MV to make a post yesterday.

Well, he is always free to do whatever he wishes, so it's certainly possible he will let us know something this week. But I'd expect it around April 5th.

Unless of course, there was a delay with the product, and its no longer coming out April 12th. Essentially, MV will let us know what's going on when he feels its appropriate to do so.

I believe there is a Facebook page, called Illustrating the Score.

The artist often puts good quality versions up on his Facebook page, "Illustrating The Score"

Ah, got it, thank you. The lack of cover art made me zip right past it...

Doesn't LLL plan to sign first few of the boxsets? I would love to have it signed by Lennertz and Giacchino, instead of Djawadi.

They have not said yet what is going to happen. Back when this box was first brought to light, there was something like "we might have some signed, or we might hold a signing event"...so they MIGHT just be depending on Dark Del to have the signed ones. Hard to say...guess we will find out tomorrow when MV should hopefully clue us in to everything.
