In addition to Eye of the Needle, it would be nice if we could get some of the perpetuity-owned Herrmanns from the box set that haven’t been reissued yet (and preferably with a reasonable quantity so I don’t miss out).

We need a James Horner expansion for a change. Hear hear! I can't even remember the last Horner V DE that was released?

We need a James Horner expansion for a change. Hear hear! I can't even remember the last Horner V DE that was released? How many more unexpanded Horner scores does Varese even have rights to? Brainstorm, Once Around, Class Action, Beyond Borders, House of Sand and Fog, The Forgotten, Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius, All the King’s Men, Black Gold, and For Greater Glory would be the candidates I think. Obviously everyone wants the unreleased Brainstorm film recording, but which of the rest are most in need of expansion? They already reissued Vibes and Where the River Runs Black as straight Encore Editions, so those seem unlikely for expanded Deluxe Editions... Yavar

So the latest Deluxe Editions were Lionheart by Goldsmith and Knowing by Beltrami, two fantastic releases. Amazingly, Varese has two more Club releases later this week. A fourth batch in a row containing Goldsmith would seem to be a stretch but these have been crazy times for Goldsmith fans lately. What are folks hoping for, this round? Yavar

Sphere and Terminal Velocity are high on my wishlist but doubt they'll happen. Oooh, mine too! I guess we never know... Knowing: The Deluxe Edition was quite an out of the blue surprise for most people. Anything's possible. Yavar

Hudson Hawk would be cool. I also wish for an expanded INSTINCT by Danny Elfman. Fantastic score with some great stuff missing and abbreviated.

Apple Music has spilled the beans in advance about one of the Varese Club titles being released on CD (and apparently digitally) tomorrow and it's a Deluxe Edition of my #1 favorite Michael Kamen score, adding almost HALF AN HOUR of music to the already generous-for-the-time original 50 minute program! https://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=147143&forumID=1&archive=0 I have removed The Iron Giant from my original Wish List post here, as well as John Powell's Paycheck which was released in a batch with a finally-complete edition of Don Davis's The Matrix last year (I hadn't included that on my list since Varese had already done an expanded Deluxe Edition years ago, albeit still missing 15-20 minutes of score.) I hadn't previously put Kamen's Hudson Hawk on my list, but since The Iron Giant was the only thing I had listed for Kamen and I didn't want to delete him from the list entirely, I've subbed it in. Thanks folks for calling it to my attention, because the samples I've heard online are actually really fun (and the movie looks like a ton of fun too). Yavar

I'm sure there are more than a few. I didn't list Lonely Are the Brave because I don't think it's ever been confirmed that Varese Sarabande owns that title in perpetuity. Most of their titles they license for their limited Club series they do not bother to get perpetuity rights for... because why would they, when a title is already limited to 3000 copies or whatever? One of the very few exceptions seems like it might be The Ballad of Cable Hogue (my other favorite western that Goldsmith scored, even if on album I don't love the score as much). That one Varese seems to still be selling digitally, which might mean that they got perp rights on it after all, for some reason. But other Club titles Varese released like Magic have since been revisited by other labels (LLL even added a missing 25 second cue to that one!) It's generally only unlimited titles Varese put out in wide release that you have to worry about them controlling, like (for more Goldsmith examples) The Mephisto Waltz, The Other, the two Flint scores, or the two Planet of the Apes scores. I *could* be wrong, but I'm hopeful that labels like Intrada or LLL could pursue a new edition of Lonely Are the Brave with Universal Pictures, if they were so inclined. Yavar

I'm currently playing Free Willy 3. As we all know it bloody marvelous. Needs an expansion. Does this come under the 'in perp' banner?

Yeah, Varese released the original half hour album so… most likely. Though we’ve seen again this past year that some things like Matinee and Hollow Man they didn’t get in perpetuity. I want Free Willy 2 in complete form even more (only 10.5 minutes were on the soundtrack album and this is IMO the best score of the three). But Free Willy 3 is my second highest want of the trilogy.
