Are Intrada's final releases also expected to arrive on this Monday/Tuesday?

See the partial announcement a few pages back, mentions December 3rd. It was copied from the Intrada forum.

Doug’s Corner:

12/2/2019

Back from my holiday vacation with the entire family in Colorado. Snow, ice, blizzards galore! Everything outside was freezing but the Thanksgiving celebration was as warm as they come.
Getting back on track with CD releases. Up this Tuesday are soundtracks to Disney’s Return From Witch Mountain and Paramount’s Dora And The Lost City Of Gold. Lalo Schifrin pens the former, John Debney & Germaine Franco pen the latter. Artwork, contents and sound samples will be posted on our site this evening at approximately 5pm. Orders begin shipping tomorrow.

This makes it sound as though the Tiomkins will be coming at a later date.

We already knew they weren't coming tomorrow.

We did? Any word when the Tiomkin CD's will be released?

We already knew they weren't coming tomorrow.

I don't think that was stated explicitly. Roger had said that they were coming in December just like these two, and in the past I don't think Intrada has often had two separate release dates in December.

The Return from Witch Mountain and Dora cds are available with sound samples.

The Witch Mountain samples are great, so I guess you guys were right. I wonder how folks will react to the "bonus" disc. It's abit ironic since it's unnecessary whereas Peter Proud should have had a 2nd disc.

Maybe not explicitly but the other two titles were revealed ahead of time with no Tiomkin. So that seemed like confirmation.

I like that the price of a two-disc set is the same as a single disc. I don't think there's enough cheer when that happens, which is often with Intrada.

Perhaps this 2nd disc falls under the"contractually obligated" section of releasing this score??? Because there is no obvious need for it..unless I am missing some information...

Unless the shorter cd was actually pressed and more music was then discovered, allowing the complete score presentation, as revealed on Disc 1? This would then leave a whole lot of redundant 49 minute Disc 2 versions floating around with nowhere to go....

Anyway, just a crazy idea. Disc 2 has the same mixes as Disc 1..yes??

Yes. You could listen to the podcast for an explanation. They basically just felt like constructing and offering the Thor Option! smile

...and the Marshall option!

Bravo Intrada for your sane decisions.
Disc one seems to be a horrible listening experience but disc two is a decent ' whittle'.

The announcement says it's the same music arranged to look like an "album," although I'm not sure if mixing or editing is completely the same. But being identical would explain why none of those tracks have sound samples.

Which you could call "the anti-TerraEpon option". Because it's so.....pointless. Just add some notes in the booklet -- they actually used to do this all the time.
Honestly releases like this sometimes make me wish I never got into film music in the first place.

The album version is just a whimsical indulgence, possibly because of the time of year, that it's Disney, a premiere release, and Doug spent so much time mixing and mastering that he thought it was worth birthing twins instead of a single child.

How can you say disc one is a horrible listening experience when you haven't even heard it yet?

The Thor Option wouldn't include the first disc. So he won't be satisfied with this release either I'm afraid.

Since Intrada has so generously offered this two disc set at a one disc price no gets to bitch. (In case no one's said it yet, thank you, Intrada.)

Well, the extra weight is more expensive to ship overseas and may trip the Wallet Police/Wallet Gnomes, I mean, customs/import duty fines.

It could be worse - a quad-sized jewel case like Counterpoint's Sunset Boulevard, which they mainly needed for two booklets rather than cds.

Isn't single disc $20.99?
