Watched it this morning and really enjoyed the film. Even enjoyed the JXL score. Wish some of the orchestral stuff sounded a bit more organic but musically, I enjoyed his themes and motifs. I'll be seeing this in IMAX tomorrow evening. I'll be paying close attention to the music based on your comments. Sound man our Mr. Coscina

The main 5 note signature theme for Godzilla was cool but it kept reminding me of something. So I put on Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and lo and behold, there it was. Note for note and with the exact same rhythmic figure too.

Really liked the movie. And I totally agree that the score is good but mixed too low. Also, I was about to ask the same question about the front credits. Where the hell is that track? Not the official album, shame Also, there's a more larger suite for the Godzilla's theme Tom show in his Studio Time video, shame isn't in the album, because explore more variations than they have released.

Movie is solid, score is ass. Enjoyed the movie. Still think some of the score is clever but the film and music lose some of their appeal in the third act. Still credit the director for delivering a much more coherent movie than the previous two (from the standpoint of editing- all of the action is very well framed and clear unlike so many kaiju Hollywood fare with the quick cuts, shaky camera and close ups. The first act set up I found very good. And the relationship between Kong and the little girl was the best part of the film.

I liked Junkie's Justice League score all right but I couldn't find a thing to hang onto with Godzilla vs. Kong (this also largely applies to the movie)--apart from the Godzilla theme itself which just restates itself throughout the movie. I personally prefer Kong's theme. More robust and actually had more than one section: the main statement and the woodwind melody. The mixing is super low in the film and you can barely hear the score anyway. Where you see it? I went to the threater, and the mix is good, you can hear the score

Just saw this in IMAX this evening. Ears totally bludgeoned! I guess this should be expected from a "composer" who goes under the name Junkie. I did enjoy some of the Godzilla scenes, especially those where he beats the tar out of King Kong, and was suitably impressed by MechaGodzilla (the design, not the inane paraphernalia) but otherwise, meh. Watch Shin Godzilla and see how a modern Godzilla film is made. Can't wait for Toho studios to make more Kaiju flicks. Anything else, is "cultural appropriation"
