I am looking for La-La's "Lost in Space: 50th Anniversary Soundtrack Collection" for a reasonable price. Unfortunately I missed it when it was still in print…

Thanks for any help!

Finding a copy of this release will be a challenge ($150/retail. 1,500 copies). Your best chance is gonna be an eBay auction. A copy sold last month for $160.

Your link points to Intrada's 2CD release of Bruce Broughton's score. That's not what he's looking for.

Just a thought, but you could always buy the one on Ebay that is BRAND NEW, apply for PayPal credit, and pay $42 a month for 12 months. I know it's expensive as heck, but just a thought if you can't afford the $500 all in one shot.

Blessings

Fans got too stop sleeping at the wheel a Williams box-set that rarely comes too fruition, this was in LLL stores for 2+ years that had that crazy 50$ reduction, every-one should of been aware of that.

Name a price & condition - i'll keep an eye what's round, hopefully sellers I trust might get it, Good-luck.

I wouldn't give someone the time of day if they asked $500 for this. How can they justify the exploitation, especially if they're soundtrack fans?

When this thread started, I looked on Buysoundtrax since they carry discontinued LLL titles. Also checked monstersinmotion, moviemusic, amoeba, bullmoose, musicstack, Backtrackrye, tarantula-records, and Creaturefeatures which is operated by a soundtrack guy who sells a few random titles in his shop (and ebay). I would have posted if I found it.
On the positive side (for me), I discovered Creaturefeatures is publishing a Night Gallery coffee table book.

Hey philjun,

What is your price range you are able to spend on the set, just in case I find it. If I find it, I would just buy it and have you pay me back. I just need to know the range you are willing to spend on it.

Let me know!

Blessings
Justin

Thank you for that idea. But that is, I have to admit, still way to much for me.

You're right. If it were me I would'nt want to exploit fellow collectors. I am also not so sure somebody would pay that much for this set. For any soundtrack CD for that matter. There are offers floating around discogs or amazon for months or years that nobody seems to go for…

You're right. But those two years I was pretty much gone. I didn't collect for quite some time for personal and financial reasons… Now I am back and on the lookout. So, thank you for your offer to help out. That's very kind of you. The $ 150 the set went for when it was first released would be the price I could pay. Or less, of course ;-) … At the very most I could go up to $ 200 I think. The set should be in very good to mint condition. I once saw a set offered with the box battered all around. I wouldn't want a set like that… Thank you!

Hi Justin, thank you for your offer to help in my search! As I wrote to leagolfer, I would like to get the set for $ 150 (or less) in very good to mint condition. At the very most I could pay up to $ 200. I live in Germany, so postage might be factor. At amazon the shipping supposedly is $ 150 for the set. That is insane. So, in any case please contact me first before you buy the set for me. My email is: ph.j.neumann (at) web.de Thank you!

Best,
Philipp

Quite possibly someone on FSM will want to sell their boxset. Also more reasonable sellers (who might also accept lower offers) will show on discogs and ebay. It's too early to give up hope and pay $500.

The ridiculous prices on discontinued/oop titles just means that few (if any) copies are being sold. It doesn't mean they are selling for this much, you can put any price you want on something. Film scores on CD are a pretty selective market (limited production numbers). Not as many folks under 40yo collect physical media any more.

Follow the usual places for copies you want (eBay, Discogs, this forum, the usual retailers, Music Box Records, etc.) Research what stuff actually sells for (eBay and Discogs provides metrics). Do not bother with Amazon for oop stuff. Discovering stuff takes effort, time, and patience, but usually pays off.

Quite possibly someone on FSM will want to sell their boxset.

That is exactly how I obtained a sealed copy, on this very board. Someone was willing to trade his sealed copy for two CD sets in return (Apollo 13 and Who Framed Roger Rabbit, an arrangement that satisfied both parties and also had the virtue of costing me way less than full price - even better, the LIS set was at the time going for insane prices on the secondary market).
