It seems that in the UK, despite no convictions, Woody Allen's films have been 'cancelled' and are no longer shown on tv, and that Woody has been added to the list that includes Gary Glitter and The Lost Prophets of artists that no longer grace our airwaves. I mentioned this in a thread a week ago hoping that anyone would be able to contradict me and tell me if any of his films have been shown on terrestrial tv over the last few years, as I am fairly sure, but not 100% sure that that is the case. I certainly cannot remember the last time I saw any of his films on the Biased Broadcasting Company, ITV or CH4. This never used to be the case. Annie Hall, Manhattan, Hannah and Her Sisters all used to regular showings and his newer films used to get shown a year or so after release. Not now. Last year his “A Rainy Day in New York,” was dropped by its producer, Amazon (yet another reason to avoid them in my opinion), who then pulled the plug on a 4 picture deal with Woody, and I have read that the #Metoo movement has made him and his films unpopular in the US. Yet on continental Europe his films are still very popular. If, as it seems, the bearded lefties at the Beeb, and their not so bearded counterparts at the other other broadcasters have made a decision not to show his films due to unfounded allegations, then they should be ashamed. What does everyone else think ? Are his films still shown in the US ? Why are Polanski's films still shown regularly on tv (well, Rosemary's Baby anyway) but not Woody's ? Why can Tarantino feature Polanksi (who admitted to, and was proven to have committed, a criminal offence, unlike Allen) in his latest film without even a murmur ? I like the films of Woody Allen and Polanski a lot, and can separate out the person or people involved in making films from the films themselves, and object to continually having choices made for me as to what i am allowed to watch, especially by bearded lefties and the woke brigade.

Few and far between for sure. I think the last ive seen in uk is Take the Money n Run, shown probably in the last year but where i cant recall, probably TCM, so maybe that doesnt count.

In relation to the original question, im surprised the bbc hasnt banned movies starring anyone who has ever worked with woody too! And their relatives. And maybe ban the clarinet too.
