In England, Lock Down rules are eased this Saturday, July 4th*
People can go for a drink, in a pub, under certain conditions and circumstances, from this Saturday.
It's expected to be bigger than New Years Eve festivities, according to police and authorities.
So, Reborn On The Fourth Of July wink
Personally, you won't see me in or near a pub until there's some kind of normality back on the block.
But is anyone else planning on hitting the bars?

*unless you live in Leicester..then you're screwed.

I’m with you on that, Kev. Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should.

The pubs opened here on Monday, the ones that serve food. Ones that don't can only serve drink in a beer garden. Not sure if it's the same in England.

I'm going tomorrow night to the local with a few mates for a quick bite and then a few pints. Had to book a table for the first time ever which is a laugh. Situation here seems a bit different than for you guys, very few cases here.

Pubs here have been open for a while, but I don't know if I will be going out this weekend. On the other hand, my fridge broke down on Monday, and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed or replaced by the landlord. The eating and drinking options are incredibly limited without a fridge, as I have experienced these last few days! In any case, I have a bottle of white wine and three beers stuck in a bucket of tepid water (I don't have a freezer, so I can't even cool it with ice cubes), and I no doubt have to consume them tomorrow before they go bad, whether I want to or not.

Saturday night = house + spaghetti westerns ( probably) + bottle of whisky ( between three, by the way, I'm not a drunk, yet) why go out big grin

It's like learning to walk all over again. First, you get tested for Covid-19, then you start thinking about what to do next.

Only, no test for Covid-19 has ever revealed itself to even exist. It's like a tall story you tell down at the pub.

Not a chance. No reason to go to a pub anymore. I only tended to go with one friend and we fell out last year (or was it the year before?)

Ha, na. I stopped going to the pub many decades ago. A nice glass of red at home for me, as per usual.

I am planning to go to an open air market tomorrow (Portobello Road Market), I've really missed not going there. It'll probably look a bit sad compared to how it used to look, but hopefully it'll slowly come back to how it used to be...as long as we don't spike again.

Despite my wife's misgivings I think I'll have a look at least to see the lie of the land. Anything like a crowd I'll move on or head home. I drink in the neighboring village, where the pubs are usually quiet places. The silliest thing to me is starting this on a Saturday. Would have been best to start slowly on a Monday and step things up gradually.

Face mask ready, I intend to tread very carefully. I won't be anywhere near anyone else they way it happens in supermarkets. And if it's a rubbish experience I'll be waiting a little while longer.

I'm currently training a guy who runs a pub.

He says the brewery have only supplied enough beer and lager for a short day, and it's meant to last the whole week.

I suspect there are going to be some very annoyed people when it runs out.

Another reason not to bother going.

I just drove past a pub down the road from me (on the way back from the council tip), & I thought it looked a bit different, well it was open & people were drinking outside (it's quite a nice evening), it's a nice pub with lots of tables outside (I thought it was tomorrow they opened, maybe the landlord is treating his regulars)). People seemed to be keeping their distance, apart from some couples, but then if they're sleeping together it doesn't make much sense to stand apart.

hee Hee HEE! Anyway, have any of y'all ever been to a place called The Three Crowns? M'bro-in-law took me there a couple times. Close to Watford. And some other place in Tring--can't recall name.

Running with what Jeh said above, I wonder how many pubs reopening tomorrow are gonna be serving months old stale ale, to clear their dregs!!?

You'll find out in due time. Or you could stay indoors and join us at the "Cheers" meeting (see thread).

Thanks for the invite Thor.
I spend a lot of the working week, at the moment, in Microsoft Teams with work colleagues and then chatting to friends/family on WhatsApp outside work hours. I don't particularly enjoy either methods of communication.
I haven't got Zoom or signed up for it, so I will swerve adding any further modern methods of chatting, but have fun.

That's a poor excuse coming from a Scouse bullshitter like me. I've exposed myself in front of millions. Now it's your turn.
