It's expected to be bigger than New Years Eve festivities, according to police and authorities. So, Reborn On The Fourth Of July Personally, you won't see me in or near a pub until there's some kind of normality back on the block. Ones that don't can only serve drink in a beer garden. Not sure if it's the same in England. I'm going tomorrow night to the local with a few mates for a quick bite and then a few pints. Had to book a table for the first time ever which is a laugh. On the other hand, my fridge broke down on Monday, and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed or replaced by the landlord. The eating and drinking options are incredibly limited without a fridge, as I have experienced these last few days! I stopped going to the pub many decades ago. A nice glass of red at home for me, as per usual. I am planning to go to an open air market tomorrow (Portobello Road Market), I've really missed not going there. Anything like a crowd I'll move on or head home. I drink in the neighboring village, where the pubs are usually quiet places. The silliest thing to me is starting this on a Saturday. Would have been best to start slowly on a Monday and step things up gradually. Face mask ready, I intend to tread very carefully. I won't be anywhere near anyone else they way it happens in supermarkets. He says the brewery have only supplied enough beer and lager for a short day, and it's meant to last the whole week. I suspect there are going to be some very annoyed people when it runs out. Another reason not to bother going.    Posted:   Jul 3, 2020 - 9:26 AM     By:   Rameau   (Member) I just drove past a pub down the road from me (on the way back from the council tip), & I thought it looked a bit different, well it was open & people were drinking outside (it's quite a nice evening), it's a nice pub with lots of tables outside (I thought it was tomorrow they opened, maybe the landlord is treating his regulars)). I spend a lot of the working week, at the moment, in Microsoft Teams with work colleagues and then chatting to friends/family on WhatsApp outside work hours. I don't particularly enjoy either methods of communication.
