Holy cow, Thor. Time to slow down a bit, yeah? We were genuinely worried about you. We actually looked up the Norwegian equivalent of 911 just in case something truly horrible happened to you. I'm glad you're OK though. Lots of coconut water today! wink

Thor claims that he can't find coconut water in Oslo. I don't doubt him, but I truly find that mind-boggling. Whenever I drink one too many, I always drink a large coconut water before bed. I feel fine the next day.

Glad you are doing okay Thor. Thanks so much for another great session. I really appreciate your having scheduled it for Saturday. I know that isn't everyone's preference, so I appreciate the flexibility. Great conversation. everyone. I will have to look into some of the books everyone was showing off.

I will implement some self-imposed regulations for the next meeting: I will not open a beer untill 5 PM (the "party" starts at 6 PM, three hours prior to our meeting, with a different Zoom chat). I will drink slower. I will have a max limit of 6 strong beers. I will stop drinking at 11/11.30 and move to water for the remainder of the time. I will also continue hunting for this elusive coconut water. Come to think of it, I might have seen it in the store -- but only in a can, intended for cooking, not in a bottle or anything.

Again, sorry for causing unnecessary worry, for not being there to let Graham and Thomas back in, and for any other mishap there might have been.

On a more positive note, I loved Onya's initial set-up of palm trees and tiki drinks. You were too far away from the microphone, but you get the prize for the best backdrop. smile

It was my second rum cocktail of the season, plus we just got a set of vintage Arthur Umanoff bar stools for our vintage Arthur Umanoff bar, so I got a little carried away!

Hope you are feeling better!

Perhaps next time you could give us a little tour round the bar?

I shall, if the other participants are not bored!

Ms. Birri and I are vaccinated, and we are going to a new tiki bar that has opened in our little corner of the world. The proprietor is a highly regarded mixologist and a good friend.

I will report back with details.

Cheers and Mahalo!

Onya had a Rum Barrell, a Stolen Idol, and a Jet Pilot.

Ms. Birri had a Rum Barrell, Three Dots and a Dash, Mai Tai, and Planter's Punch.

A splendid time was had by all!

Sounds like a great time. Does the place have a website?

Very authentic drinks, many which are also on the Mai-Kai menu!

I could quite happily work my way through that menu!

I most certainly will in the coming months!

Indeed. That's not only a drink, but an "event". Not usually a drinks person, but those look great.

I was hung over all yesterday, because I went out on Friday. Great to meet some people again (we were within the allowed limit of 5 people, no worries). A friend of mine has an apartment by the pier, and we sat on the balcony for many hours and gazed out on the sea (despite shoddy weather). I made home-made pizza for everyone. Also brought along a delicious bottle of Crémant (which is somewhere between Champagne and Prosecco) for everyone to share, plus the odd wine and beer.

Tomorrow is Norway's independence day, but I won't partake in any celebrations (even if there were any in these covid times). But it means that I can have a few units tonight, which is very rare for me as far as Sundays are concerned.

Tonight we are having guests over in our Bora Bora room.

I will be mixing Test Pilots, a blender drink that is similar to the Jet Pilot.

For music, we will alternate between jungle sound effects and an exotica various artists playlist.

And on a Monday even?!? No, seriously, sounds like a blast, Onya.

Summer weather washed over Norway this weekend (temps close to 30C yesterday), and will continue for some time. Spent Saturday afternoon, evening and night on a roof terrace down by the pier (a friend owns an apartment in the building). Another friend brought champagne. There was also beer and wine consumed, untill I stumbled home at 3 in the morning. Silly amounts of people out and about after the lockdown was eased up a bit last week.

Here's a pic I took at dusk (the bear is my friend's upcoming gift to his niece, but we thought it provided a nice statement):

Sounds like fun!

Today is a holiday, Memorial Day, in the US, so Sunday night was like Saturday night.

Ah, understood!

By the way, I'm looking at next Friday - i.e. Friday, June 11th - as the next "Cheers" meeting. At 21:00 Oslo time as usual. I'm going to make some adjustments to the alcohol consumption, so last time's "disappearance act" doesn't happen again. It's all water from 23:00 and out.

Thor, what's your opinion on alcohol-free or low alcohol beer?
