I reread some old Mad magazines recently and, in looking up Wikipedia articles on the artists and writers, was surprised to discover that Al Jaffee (of the famous fold-ins and many, many other articles) is still with us at 101 and only retired in 2020.
And N.F.L. Hall Of Famers Charley Trippi (age 100!) and Hugh McIhenny (age 93) both died last year. When he reached age 100 Trippi became the oldest Hall Of Famer ever.
Producer/director Bert I. Gordon is 100 today! He's on litefoot's list... I hope that doesn't mean bad news tomorrow.
He's still alive and kicking!
Julian Glover (Bond/Indiana Jones/Doctor Who/Magnum PI villain), 87 Robert M Sherman, 94
And Jeannie herself, Barbara Eden, is 91
And Glover played Ari Kristatos in "For Your Eyes Only" and Polish agent Igor Zaminsky in the television miniseries "QB VII" (which had three other actors who starred in the James Bond series - Vladek Sheybal, Geoffrey Keen and Shane Rimmer).
I tend to think of people in the arts for this thread, but an outstanding political figure still with us and still advising is Henry Kissinger, 99, to turn 100 in May.
If you have ever worked with kids in a teaching or otherwise teaching capacity, they never age. You may not have seen them in 30, 40 years so they remain in your mind as they were. That’s exactly how I feel looking at those names. It is astonishing nonetheless to see the ages of so many I grew up with in the TV-watching dept. I mean “Jeannie” 91? Never!
