Just picked up BOB DYLAN: THE BOOTLEG SERIES 65-66
BEST OF HIGHWAY 61 & BLONDE ON BLONDE sessions

looking forward to this as this is the only period where Dylan was considered a 'pop star' and sang with authority

Thor said:

MUCH more commercial than I had expected, and so a little disappointing.

Yes, he has got a commercial side with much vocals and four to the floor drums. The album These Hopeful Machines has quite much of that.

Ozric Tentacles. have you heard of them Thor there a good rock band play all different styles, hippie dub funk new age a lot of guitar riffs & drums there quite heavy sometimes still have a good sound, they have been around since the mid 80's, I've seen them gig a few times they have a distinctive sound that's more underground than pop.

Also check the magic mushroom band out to Thor, There just as good around the same sort of time mid 80's more of a underground sound again these bands were far to underground to ever reach pop status. but I liked them both very much

Quite a few in the past week, which is surprising since I haven't found any decent new metal in quite a while. And all of these are actually quite good! Funny how so many bands who had been disappointing me for years finally all come back with something good in the same year.

Marillion - F.E.A.R.

Little underwhelmed by their latest offering, but still a fine album.

Afro Celt Sound System. Yeah, great and ever changing outfit.

THE EGG is very worth checking, they're also in the Ozric Tentacles mold.
