After a promising start ( the first few episodes were IMO the best I've seen from this series in a few years ), again the show has bottomed out with this past week's truly awful episode. Of course it was the terrifying twosome of writer Scott Gimple and director Greg Nicotero we can blame. It was one of those "important" episodes TWD always airs when a character is about to depart. either we see numerous flashbacks from their life, or, like this train wreck, there are fantasy/dream/ sequences non stop. This wasn't as cringe inducing as the episode focused on Carl's death which was maybe the most hilariously bad episode ever, but it was bad nonetheless. All these "you have to wake up" and "gotta find my family" moments didn't work at all. TWD is best when it is fast paced pulpy gory horror with an occasional sly grin, but it sucks hard when it tries to be meaningful. Again...they've completely botched the departure of a major character...only, hey, he's not really leaving The Walking Dead after all. And oh good Lord...the peek into the future with Judith holding a pistol almost as tall as her? Come on, that was ridiculous, the kick from that gun probably would have knocked her off her feet But, Carol as a long haired warrior goddess? I'm game. Eugene actually killing walkers like a boss? Now - I can buy the dead coming back to life, but Eugene kicking ass? Nah And FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY IN THIS WORLD, when will they kill off Negan? He's the single worst character on this show - yes, worse than Eugene, worse than the Governor - a good actor trapped in a horribly written role, and they need to put us out of that misery. I was back on board with the Dead as this season started , but they're back to their old BS again

"... THE WALKING DEAD---the last episode drew 4.79 million viewers which is the lowest in series history. Season 9 is averaging 5.25 million viewers per episode which is 33% below Season 8. Also, showrunner Angela Kang said she hopes Maggie (Lauren Cohan) will return for Season 10, "We will hopefully come back to Maggie's story in Season 10. Lauren and I have been texting about some things, and we're hopefully gonna schedule a conversation, but Georgie's group is definitely out there in world doing some stuff, and I have some notion of what they're up to. They may also be part of the universe in general. That's really up to Scott [Gimple], but we'll see how it all plays out."

", the Season 9 midseason final episode drew a series low 5.1 million viewers which was down 35% from Season 8's midseason finale." It aint just me then!

So an 8 year old girl holding a magnum bigger than her shoots negan off a harley from a hundred yards without being blown off her feet. I can just see Negan picking flowers soon.
