Only one man could strangle a woman with her own bikini top. And his name isn't Danny, Roger or Georgia!

If only Sean did 0007 in OHMSS. What a classic that would have been. If Connery had been onboard, they might have made another comedy, and it would have been as bad as DAF. Nothing bad to say about him, but frankly, I got enough Connery in the films he did do.

Imagine Terence Young directing Sean in his prime at the peak of Bondmania!!!!

I suppose Connery was fed up in the end and may well have been in mocking mood, but (and of course if they had made the same film we got) at least the idea of Bond marrying and losing soon after would have had more impact for the audience than it did with a newbie.

Connery, Lazenby, Moore. Is there no love for Pierce Brosnan? I thought he really looked the part and acquitted himself well in GOLDENEYE. I prefer Timothy Dalton. A Bond before his time. One who was trying to get the character back to basics before it was popular. Underappreciated. Very sad.

And I'll say this for Pierce Brosnan: he made only one film too many, whereas Connery, Moore, and Craig all went back for too many helpings.

If Bond wearing a kilt, being mostly overdubbed, getting bullied around by Kojak (or Maggot), and doing the worst, half-assed emoting when a chick he spends most of the film despising dies at the end is one's idea of the "best" Bond film, then yes, OHMSS is the "best" Bond film. My God, you people. As for Timothy Dalton, if the very definition of awkward, uncomfortable, and hideously miscast in a role he was unsuited for from birth in a film with Joe Don "Mitchell" Baker is one's idea of "best" Bond film, then yes, TLD is the "best" Bond film. Congrats to arthur grant and his excruciatingly, slow-loading blog on "finally" getting some attention in one of his threads, as Bond is one of the two or three movie-related topics that arouse--so to speak-- the average FSMer. If Monty Norman had ever been alive and eventually died, he would be rolling in his Bond-Theme composing grave.

If Monty Norman had ever been alive and eventually died, he would be rolling in his Bond-Theme composing grave. Ha! It just so happens that I agree with the first paragraph. Lazenby is one wooden dude. Waste of time getting him in, for everyone by all accounts. Just because he was good in a Fry's Chocolate Cream ad! I reckon both Connery AND Moore could have pulled off the emotional ending. The audience would have felt enough emotion for Connery and it would have been a fitting end of run to see him married and then..... And then if anyone needs reminding of Moore's abilities in this are one need only witness his wonderful performance in the later moments of The Man Who Haunted Himself. And let's not forget he gets to have a quiet moment of mourning at the start of For Your Eyes Only. Lovely surprise for any fan. Of course we lose the plot quickly, almost as quick as my experience with Arthur's blog loading (fast at my end), because Dalton is king baby! Intense is good, and he excelled at that.
