Not sure what happened there. I'm sure it was pretty foul. But the responses are hilarious too. LMAO!

Yeah it was a bloodbath.
I'm glad it predated me.
In my opinion there was too much of people going after each other on tangents later on, and not nearly enough of going after the OP.

God, I miss the OTT thread.

Wow, you really ARE obsessed with me, aren't you? To the extent that you are linking to an 11 year old thread to try to put me in a bad light? When I saw that you had a link to another thread, I just *knew* it was one of mine. THAT's what's sad. I have tried to ignore you lately, and I have managed, until now.

You seriously need to get a life. Put on some Phaedra. Close your eyes. Try to forget about me, the guy who listens to 90s TD. However hard it seems.

First Breath, I must have missed that 2008 thread back then. I read through it for the first time today. It was a joy seeing some of the most obnoxious people on this board with their panties in a twist!

I'm still LMAO over the very first reply. Classy since 2008.

Use Google instead. Type your search parameters in speech marks, followed by

site:filmscoremonthly.com

I find it much more effective than the FSM search engine.

That's what I've been doing, but Google is not infallible either. Threads that I created last year can't be located by Google.

Forget the internal search engine. "Google" a title or phrase followed by "FSM" and a link for the appropriate thread appears. That's how I just found "The Elephant Queen" thread.

This method found a thread I was looking for that the "site:filmscoremonthly.com" method did not.

I think the "site:fillintheblack.com" confuses the search engines. I know its supposed to work, but I never bother with that. I just type in a subject and FSM and the thread I'm looking for always pops up. Again I use Duck Duck Go.

Well, I thought that anyone smart enough to operate a computer also knew how the internet works.
I guess that's not always the case.
So I'm gonna take a quick minute to learn you something:

When you post something ridiculous, it becomes fair game for ridicule.
And it will continue to be so for as long as it's there.

I hasten to add, you yourself linked to it not long ago in an unrelated thread.
So if you didn't want to be in a "bad light", well, you actually brought more attention to it than it originally had--no help required from anyone else.
You made a thread that was designed to attract attention, and now you are whining because it's not exactly the type of attention you wanted.
Too bad.

Incidentally, I listen to plenty of TD throughout their whole timeline.
Unlike you, I like all periods (to varying degrees).
And here again, you invite criticism because whenever a thread about 70's TD comes up you never fail to take the time to remind us all how you don't like it.
It looks like I am not the one who's obsessed.
I just call out BS.
Not always, mind you, it's just that you make it so easy.

(Please excuse the lateness of my reply. It was that whole "life" thing you mentioned. big grin)

I used to search FSM via Google, too. Worked 90% of the time. Now in the last few days, it's like Google has toyed with their slanted search engine again and it's not been very useful since.

Yeah, just when I get these things figured out, they wonk out the whole thing.

I e-mailed Lukas about this a few hours ago. Now that was a quick fix! Excellent!

[Edit: Hmmm, it appears it doesn't quite work yet, even though it does respond. Whatever you search for, it doesn't find that, but instead provides hundreds of hits to things that have nothing to do with that. Hopefully, it's still in the process of being fixed!]

I just put in FSM POETS and British Christmas Pudding into the Engine which are both on this page, and those topics would not show up. Favorite Quotations did show up, so it is still a hit and miss depending upon the topic.

Edit, yes Thor also just mentioned the problem.

IMPORTANT!

Actually, I just found out that if you put whatever you're searching for within quotation marks ("), it narrows it down to what you're looking for. At least it worked for me.

Like thor says I just tried escape from new york - got reams of threads about as far removed from the search as is possible. Quite funny. So...be sure and tell them That's 'in progress'. Right. wink
