I've been watching a lot of Netflix movies over the last week through a firestick, and that way it's run the credits on the full screen with three "if you liked that you'll like these" films highlighted at the bottom, like at the end of some YouTube videos. But you can always tab up to the top and watch the credits.

I don't know that there's a setting to disable these things entirely, but you can disable the trailers autoplaying.

Well, yes, but I only have - like - 3 seconds to do so, and I don't even have the time to get up from my couch and disable it on my computer (which is how I run Netflix). They've deliberately made it so short so they can play noisy and loooong trailers that I have no interest in.

You can change your settings now. I did it ages ago and I never get autoplaying trailers.

Hmmm, I can see no such settings. I can only choose between automatic playing of new episodes (which I want), and previews of titles you click on (which I also want). That's it.

On Netflix, if a film or series is coming to an end, I get a "Play credits?" notice, and if I'm not fast enough to click "Yes" it's immediately onto the next show, or trailers. But if I go back to what has just finished and fast-forward it to near the end, if I use the pause button just before the credits kick in, I can stop the image for a moment and when I let it play on I get all the credits uninterrupted.

I watch Netflix on my Apple TV and always get the end credits from both TV and movies. There is a setting in your Netflix profile settings that disables autoplay of the next episode / movie. When I use Chromecast or Fire TV for Netflix it becomes a pain in that it shows graphics like "Press play for next episode / movie" but it doesn't auto play.
