So far we've gotten…

1. Alien = Space Truckers
2. Aliens = Space Marines
3. Alien 3 = Space Convicts
4. Alien Resurrection = Space Crooks
5. Prometheus = (Super Dumb) Space Scientists
6. Covenant = Space Schmucks

Which demographic hasn’t been portrayed yet that would make for juicy alien fodder?

7. Alien 7* =

* production title; insert your own

The next ALIEN movie should be about the studio letting Blomkamp do his damn movie.

Not very interested in the swiss cheese hole-ridden human-centric sequels that manage to disrespect the eerie mystery established in the original.

How about an Alien sitcom?

Jackfu's idea totally has legs.

Alien 7: pot pourri.
All the worst bits of the previous films stirred with a big spoon.

I'm still curious to hear from the David "trilogy" proponents how you get from Prometheus to Alien without a lot of duct tape.

The enormous failure of the whole Alien "sage" is the insistence that there is something a WHOLE LOT DEEPER going on here that will all make sense of this BS. The first and second picture were successful because they admitted the there is in fact, nothing at all deeper to this thing. Later, more films were made that varied between total B grade horse pucky, and the later films where Ridley was trying to sell us his bull-crap that there is some deeper meaning to all this savagery. There is a fundamental dishonesty to it.

But, alas, lies are more popular than ever.

Who Should the Next Alien Movie be About?

Elon Musk, obviously.

I like that pic.
That's totally where he was heading before he bought those expensive hair-plugs.

Yep, spot on. Pretty much true of all of these franchises. Most had two great films tops.

Star Wars/Empire
Alien/Aliens
Star Trek:TMP/TWOK (Trek a few additional good movies thanks to being episodic for the most part.)
Terminator/Terminator 2: Judgement Day

I don't think anyone can answer that question except for the screenwriter if and when the link film between COVENANT and ALIEN comes to fruition. Obviously, David is now in control of the Covenant ship, with all the people in cryo and all the eggs (both human and xeno), and he obviously has great plans with these resources at his disposal. It doesn't necessarily mean, however, that they're heading for LV-426 right away, nor that they even get there in the first place. As we all know, it's an Engineer ship that crashes there, not a "human" ship like the Covenant. The films can link in other ways. I'm very curious about it, and unlike most other people in this thread, I don't glaze this curiousity in cynicism and negativity. I have great faith in both screenwriters and Scott -- providing that it gets made in the first place. Crossing fingers!
