To really appreciate them best is live. They were exceptional.

Do you mean the Moodies or ELP?

Faye Emerson, Veronica Lake and Betsy Palmer?

Of course I remember.

They were ubiquitous on the movie and/or television screens of the 1940s-1950s.

I'm just surprised there are so many of you here on the FSM Board who are old enough to remember!!!

Greg Lake wrote the only Christmas song that I'll listen to: "I believe in Father Christmas". It was the Prokofiev rip of his Lt Kije Suite that got me - and of course the choral element. It took me ages I remember as a teenager trying to track down where that music came from! No internet back then & living in a small town!
It's a cheery little ditty and typically British in its outlook, theme & tone! Just typified British Christmases: dull, wet & miserable!!

They were amazing! I saw them in concert in Chicago at the Arie Crown in the early 70's. Lots of fire as I recall, and the 360 degree rotating piano platform for solos. Very flamboyant. "Lucky Man" is one of the few golden oldies that still gives me chills.

Superb soundtrack for "Nighthawks",
this fun tune: and last, but certainly NOT least: he inspired Vince DiCola.
Anyone who helped that man to create the epic soundtrack miracles for "Rocky 4" and "Transformers the movie" has earned his stay on the soundtrack Olympus.
