Beat Aussies 5-0 in 2018. Lost to them in World Cup.
Beat Sri Lanka 3-1 in 2018. Lost to them in World Cup.
Beat Pakistan 4-0 last month. Lost to them in World Cup.

Eng have beaten India and are still alive in this World Cup. They go to Durham on Friday needing to beat NZ.

India's approach in the last ten overs was decidedly odd - two proper batsmen at the crease and only taking singles.

England into the semi-finals at Edgbaston next Thursday. They will play India or Australia.

What a relief. They didn't half put fans through the wringer this month with those three defeats!

Rashid looks off his game. Needs to fix that by Thursday or he will leak runs.

Would you play another seamer instead? Not sure I would against India.

There's talk that he's not recovered from a shoulder injury.

There might be an argument for replacing him with Moeen, who is more economical.

England will play Australia in the semi-final on Thursday, at Edgbaston.

The other semi-final is India vs NZ, playing now. Rain stops play with NZ 211-5 with four overs left. India are yet to bat.

Yep, there might be as it’s the Aussies and not India. Regardless of whether we bat or bowl first, it might come down to containing/frustrating Finch and Warner. But if they’re in the mood they could take any spinner apart.

Looks likely the first semi final will move onto the reserve day tomorrow. And I think the forecast for Thursday for Edgbaston isn't too good either.

India are chasing 240 to win and were in all sorts of trouble at 5-3 - the big fish Rohit and Kohli gone. They're now 70-5.

India recovered and built a great partnership between Jadeja and Dhoni. They looked on course but in the last five they lost both players and collapsed to 221 all out. NZ into the final.

Don’t want to speak too soon and put the mockers on it, but if England had won the toss, batted, and made the start that Australia have, we’d be saying shit, it’s over already...

I'm assuming nothing at this point. Smith and the dangerous Carey still in. We need to get rid of them, pronto.

A brilliant and almost unendurably tense match but England win the Cricket World Cup. It took a huge slice of luck at the final stage of the run chase.

It makes England the only country to win the World Cups in the world’s three most popular team sports: football, rugby and cricket. Unlikely that anyone else will ever do it, unless Australia suddenly find ten Harry Kewells and another Mark Schwarzer.

Whew. I'm emotionally shattered!

What a game. Best of the tournament. Probably best final of any of the tournaments!

What were the chances of that throw from the boundary rebounding off Stokes' bat.... incredible.
