"Day is Done" is Nick Drake's finest moment (IMO).

Arcade Fire is great! So is Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark.

I had an old Bob Marley cassette that my dad had copied once. Cemented my love of him, although I tend to prefer New Wave appropriations of reggae.

Nick Drake, I've never really cared for, sorry. Edwyn Collins, I've never even heard about...

Nobody saw that coming, eh? Between this and Creedence, I guess I have a "redneck" side. At least musically. Love Steppenwolf!

Sounds like our man JohnnyG woke up this mornin', and got himself a beer. wink

While there are some fine moments, The Doors albums I continually return to are the first and the last.

Too bad "Roadhouse Blues" wasn't on L.A. Woman.

Ha! No alcohol for me in the mornin' - it was a bottle of milk! (And a few pieces of a delicious cake!...)

While there are some fine moments, The Doors albums I continually return to are the first and the last.

Yep. Can't argue with that.

Too bad "Roadhouse Blues" wasn't on L.A. Woman.

It's on "Morrison Hotel" which ain't bad at all - I like it much more than "Strange Days".

"Steel Drivin’! Rock Splittin’! Tales drenched with fuzz and pathos!!

Anvils smash, whips crack and husky voices wail across the lonesome prairie... or to be more precise, RCA Victor’s Studio A, Hollywood, California.

Here are the virile, invigorating Hollywood Western tales of screen icon Lorne Greene. Recorded in the mid-1960s, at the height of his Bonanza fame, you’ll hear a brew of tradition, lounge-pop affectation and spaghetti western mania. Witness the tense fuzz-tone of Pop Goes The Hammer, the chilling conclusion of The Search or the haunting, philosophical I’m A Gun.

"Bold arrangements by Joe Reisman and Anita Kerr, great songcraft and vigorous performances combine to produce this compelling program of thoughtful masculinity. Remastered from the original RCA Victor master tapes with rare photos, a candid interview with Lorne himself and original liner notes this deluxe collector’s edition presents his finest LP with a generous clutch of extra tracks including the number one smash hit Ringo. So saddle up, and raise a gallop for the mythical west!"

I love this damned (but forgotten) album.
