This is a real problem. I don't have any idea how the studios plan to market their back catalog in the future, but all that happens now seems to be wasted opportunity. Streaming isn't really an option for me because content comes and goes there as somebody in the power decides - let alone that you will look for basic titles like GWTW, Casablanca, RWAC or Ben Hur on things like Netflix over here without any success. The sad fact is that youtube, dailymotion and the other usual suspects have more to offer for us classic movie buffs as those sources which are aiming to sell product. The thing I do not understand is that usable masters for many (most?) classic movies already exist, but the studios don't seem to have the capacities to market them properly. I think it's a big loss for them because there are many people out there who would like to watch these movies - particularly since they have disappeared from public television as well during the last two decades. All they'd have to do is to rip the already existing DVD masters (and add foreign language tracks and subtitles) and upload them for streaming or download in DVD quality for $5 to $15 per title. Save for the additional language packages (and many of them should already exist from earlier TV airings), there should be close to no expenses for them.

I received a copy of "DEEP BLUE SEA 3" which my friend bought at Target. It's the Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack. For some strange reason, there is NO SOUND from the Blu-Ray copy through my sound system. Though I own over 600 Blu-Ray and DVD discs, this is truly the only one where I have had this problem. The soundtrack on the DVD copy, which comes in the pack, plays just fine, so we watched that, and the previews and on Blu-Ray play just fine... but the soundtrack on the actual film is MUTE. No sound at all. Any ideas?
