I'm seeing good things about a game called Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion which I'm tempted by if I can find it.
Hi Xebec, I have heard good things about that game as well. In the U.S. at least, I have heard that Target is the best place to get this game. In recent years, Target has done a pretty good job maintaining an inventory that goes beyond games everyone has heard of like Monopoly, Clue, Battleship, etc. It will never replace a good game shop, but if it gets more people to play board games, I am all for it.

I only know the (BIG BOX) GLOOMHAVEN, which will get a follow up in FROSTHAVEN (2021). Jaws of the Lion is an easier entry level game into the world of Gloomhaven. When I'm "done" with my current hook on ON MARS and NEMESIS, I will most likely turn my attention to eather GLOOM- or FROSTHAVEN....
A three hour game session against an AUTOMA with a special set of rules - my 5th game and I did not manage to fulfill the requirements for a victory...

The two local game shops in my town unfortunately can't compete with the prices of online stores. Since the games I usually get are pretty expensive, I get them online.
No Target where I am but I'll check the local comic shop and compare to online. I've watched a few play through a and I think I may go for the Gloohaven Jaws of the Lion soon. Then maybe if I like it get the original game.
Your On Mars set up looks complicated. Was it still a good time even though you lost? Not too frustrating?
There's a Pandemic Year Zero about the Cold War that looks interesting too.

Oh, it is complicated, but once you master the rules and all the interlocking mechanisms, it makes for a very rewarding game imho. Yeah, I had a great time playing it and no, not frustrated by not winning but motivated to do it better next time
The one thing that really is a con for this game is: I found it nearly impossible to learn the rules playing in solo mode. My wife took pity on me and did play once with me to master the rules (she's so not into boardgames...). Now I have no problems with the solo mode anymore.
Below is the official rules explanation from the man who helped writing them:
This The King's Dilemma looks like it plays well. I just watched the first one to see how it goes without spoiling too much of the story, as it's a one play legacy game.

This looks great but I know I'll never get to play it. Looks very interesting and involving but remembering the rules would destroy me.
I bought Flamme Rouge and it's great fun and easy to play. Basically, the Tour de France. Simple rules, lots of fun.
I'm also playing Kingdomino at the weekend.
I'm still tempted by Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion for its solo mode and easy to set up and take down time. The booklet doubles as the maps for the game.
I think I'll get Peloton the Flamme Rouge expansion at some stage.
Survive! Escape from Atlantis looks like fun family game too.
Survive is indeed a nice family game! I'm currently digging into FEUDUM, a real sandbox of a game. The rules are not overly complicated but the game itself and its different ways to victory points are pretty complex. There's a nice expansion for solo games: The Queen's Army.

Oh this looks decent I've never heard of it will look it up.
Currently playing lots of Dominion the card game online. Difficult but enjoyable.
We played the first scenario, which was pretty easy. We skipped a few missions to play a more challenging mission and lost just one round before we likely would have beaten the scenario. Hope to play it some more this weekend.

Looks like a fun game. I will have to look for it at my FLGS.

Oh let us know how it is if you can as you play more It looks really nice! Is it easy to learn?

Hi Xebec, I think the game is relatively simple to learn. The rulebook is pretty well written and there are a lot of illustrations that demonstrate how the rules operate. The back cover also has a summary of most everything you need to know. There are also some informative how to play videos on YouTube. I would say once you play a few rounds you should have the basics down. There are several Zombicide games that have been released, and I enjoy them all.
