Especially when one is 32, not very good-looking, still lives at home with mom, has no car, and is painfully shy around attractive women? Well, I was very unlucky and shy until about 26 and I met my wife. I think it was mainly good luck, but also it was that I was ready to think about making someone else happy, not just myself. That and I set some standards which kept me from chasing girls of ill repute.

Wouldn't that be a "flock" of stuffed birds? Birds -- living birds -- flock together by choice (or, at least, instinct). They're also all of the same species. Those collected by the likes of Norman Bates had no say as to which other birds they were forced to associate, nor the rather traumatic process by which they ended up in Bates's possession. Hardly a flock, that.

Join the military. They might not want you at 32, but girls like men in uniforms. Also, you'll get a lot of money (being you don't have a girlfriend), plus your physical appearance will improve with all of the PT. -nate The way things are going, that's tantamount to saying that women like men in body-bags.

Of course, Coulter just likes U.S. servicemen and Democrats in body-bags.

Years ago when I was in the same tough spot as Jack, working in a grocery store past the usual age, I went to the state's Department of Labor office and found out about the Job Training Partnership Act. The program helped me get a somewhat better job at a local business, and it paid (I think) half my wages during the training period. Within three years, I had experience in a useful field and was able to get a still better job at another company. With those two steps up, I could afford my own apartment. I'm reading the other advice posts in this thread, because if anybody needs help finding female companionship, it's me.
