Meantime, my S2 of "McMillan And Wife" arrived from Canada today. The packaging switched to a single Amray case in not good fashion but at least this series is rescued from limbo land at last!
Just made a quick check of the first two episodes for a few seconds. The image looks a bit dark but clear overall, but if one is used to only boot sets on discs that freeze up its an improvement. I wouldn't call this remastered or the best looking set I've seen but at this point I'll settle for it.

Ellery Queen isn't due out until September 28.
Thanks I had looked it up at Amazon and have it preordered.
Now this one really surprises me. VEI, the company that picked up "McMillan And Wife" from the realm of limbo land is now going to put out one of the lesser known "Mystery Movie" titles, "The Snoop Sisters" starring Helen Hayes and Mildred Natwick.
It's really amazing when you stop to think about it, just how many Universal titles have gotten their full run or are close to it on DVD from a large number of different companies. For classic shows of the late 50s to late 70s, no less than five labels are responsible for bringing at least one Universal title to completion and many more picked up that Universal never did or abandoned. (Shout, Timeless, VEI, Arts Alliance, E1)

Holy cow! I remember when THE SNOOP SISTERS were part of the NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie. It rotated with BANACEK and COOL MILLION (with James Farentino). I hope this dvd label releases SWITCH, IT TAKES A THIEF (supposedly THIEF is getting released, but by who?), RUN FOR YOUR LIFE and COOL MILLION. HEC RAMSEY and THE BOLD ONES would be nice to have, too. Maybe they'll also pick up the slack and continue KOJAK. KOJAK and THIEF are available in region 2 and 4 but I want region 1.
I read in another thread that a review of THRILLER indicates the episodes are 47 minutes long. This is concerning. There's no way the original uncut shows were only 47 minutes rather than the standard 52 minutes for the tiime. Either the review is wrong, or the episodes have been cut (or perhaps the frame rate has been increased). I've never seen the show and really want to, but not if it's been sabotaged. Can somebody who has the new DVD set confirm or deny what's up? Thanks.
This appears to be a false alarm. The average running time is 50 minutes according to the reviews and my set which I haven't looked at yet lists a running time of 499 minutes for 10 episodes on the back of the slipcase so that clocks in to a 50 minute average.

Good. I had hoped it wasn't true. Thanks, as always, for the reliable information.

Eric, are there subtitles on the S2 of McMillan And Wife?
