Oo, just got an email from NHS Direct inviting me to book the latest jab, which I've just done for next Friday.

I got one from them. I Went through the process. Got to a point and it said no need/ shouldn't be here( or some such)!!??
So also had one to do through my gp, so I did that, instead. so it's flu jab 28th and covid 2nd.

Suddenly at work a co-worker went home very sick and a resident is also suddenly very sick. Hope it’s just the flu.

Now reports are coming out that people who had covid a year ago are getting blood clots now from it, so everyone should stay vigilant and get vaccinated.

In the past week I've had both flu & covid jabs, so hopefully I'll be okay (still haven't caught it yet).

Good for you Rameau! Everyone should, there are still about 400 deaths a day from Covid.

No, just an ordinary cold a month ago. But that`s it.

Mrs TG got the booster and a flu jab yesterday, but only because she qualifies as a carer as she sees her mum and step dad a couple of times a week who are respectively near-disabled and diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I can’t get one for a couple of weeks, not old enough.

Its like we need "servicing" every six months nowadays. I hope yours came with a free lube job.

I've been having a yearly flu jab for the past 20-30 years. Tablets are the thing, I don't know anyone over sixty who's not on a regime of daily tablets. I'm on three, two for blood pressure & a statin.

Still haven't had it, though some people around us have had Covid-19 infections.

I had my Bivalent Booster jab last Wednesday in my left arm, and my senior flu shot in my right. Absolutely no side effects, not even a rash at the injection sites. I've had a COVID cocktail mix of injections. The first two shots were Moderna, and the last two have been Pfizer. Added to my two previous bouts of COVID, I should be "optimized" for the Fall and Winter.

But the last shot was bi. Not sure if that is appropriate for my self-identity as I have never before identified as Bi! Groan. smile

I am getting a COVID test today as I have another surgical procedure on Thursday. Have seen the inside of a lot of doctor's offices these past two years...sigh!

Stay well everyone!

Nope never got that I know of even though my wife did. Had 3 jabs over the past 18 months but not going to get anymore. Just get the normal flu jab each year from now on.

That's crazy!

In my country New Zealand 500 people used to die of the flu each year before Covid came along. I suspect most of those who have died of Covid would have died of the flu in the past.

You're comparing 400 deaths a day to 500 deaths a year?

My mom has come down with Covid for the first time. She has been quarantining in her bedroom. I wear a mask when I bring her food, and my dad has been sleeping in the guest bedroom, but this is a tricky virus and it's probably just a matter of time before my dad and I get it too.

That's lousy, Henry.
I hope she gets better soon.
Fingers crossed that things get back to normal.

So far, I haven't had Covid-19. Unless I had it without symptoms, obviously, I can't say, as it’s been almost a year that I had the last test. For the last year or so, it's been no checks, no masks, Covid-19 has been pretty much over and done with here as far as I can tell. Though most people I know have had it at least once at one time or another. But Covid-19 has no relevance in daily life here anymore.
