... in zombie movies, not one has ever shown any bodily functions other than eating flesh.
What happens when they need to take a sh*t? Do they drop pants or what?

This may have been mentioned but if so, forgive me. I do enjoy a good horror film but given that I've seen so many, 2 horror cloches stand out:

The use of dogs. You see a family dog in a horror film, I'm sorry, but it's a goner. Even one of the best horror films of the past 5 years, The Conjuring, did it. And if not dogs, they do it to cats too.

And speaking of cats: The Shrieking Cat. If you are watching a stinker of a Booyah film, it's almost guaranteed that a cat will pounce out of NOWHERE and then SHRIEK its lungs out. It's used so much it's almost disappointing when they don't use it.

The book World War Z actually addresses this, that zombies, once they've consumed enough flesh to have completely filled their stomachs and intestinal tracts, the flesh will simply push out through their anuses and they'll walk around in soiled pants.

Aren't you glad you brought that up? razz

Pets in disaster films are also a disaster themselves. Whenever someone has to go back for the dog or the cat, be it "Towering inferno" or "Dante's peak" I always wish that someone decides to "leave the damn dog/cat, it's time to go". I'm almost at that point now that I would apply it to children too. All of them cheap means to add another short tension spike in a film.

People punching somebody in the face who is wearing a helmet and knocking them out and not hurting their hand.

... people punching mirrors out of frustration or anger.
Somebody's got to replace that sh*t, assh*le.
Although, I could understand it if a vampire was trying to shave
and not being able to get the sideburns equal.
Do vampires shave?

Guns with laser sights emit a visible beam that travels from the lens of the sight to the point where the laser is stopped, thereby instantly giving away the position of the shooter. I don't know who decided it looked "cool" but they were an idiot as are the numbskulls who perpetuate it.

The trailer for Captain America: Civil War epitomized this for me.

The same overdubbed sound effects are used over and over in different films.
"The Wilhelm" gets an exemption, I guess, but some effects could be retired.
Weird, I know but one with which I often get annoyed is animal sounds, like cat meows, dog barks, wolf howls, etc. As much as I loved the old Flipper show when I was a kid, it's annoying now to watch and repeatedly hear the fake dolphin sound effect.
There's one particular cat meow that seems to be pretty much ubiquitous. It's used constantly on TV shows about cats or that feature cat videos (AFV). It's normally used when the cat is facing away from the camera because the cat didn't really meow.

For sure! smile

To make matters worse, people can take numerous head shots and keep going unfazed.
As anyone knows who has ever punched another person in the face/head whom is NOT wearing a helmet, it still hurts - both ways! It hurts your hand to be the puncher and it hurts your face to be the punchee! A solid whack on the nose and your eyes water, your nose runs and your ears ring.

...the head villain gets news from one of his underlings about something they did (or didn't do) that upsets the Big Bad, who then casually executes (or orders the execution) of said underling. Who would continue to WORK for someone who is likely to kill you if you so much as bring them a lukewarm cup of coffee? I know it's supposed to show just how crazy/ruthless the villain is, but it's lazy screenwriting.

Agreed. That was what was so silly about the James Bond films. That's also what made Star Wars start to go downhill, starting with The Empire Strikes Back, with Vader choking everybody who brings him a bad report. roll eyes

In both "Bond" and "TESB" the underlings were executed because they had failed their mission/ orders, not because they merely informed the leader of a failure.

Yeah, that's a lousy job working for SPECTRE. In the annual meeting, if you haven't done well your chair is likely to be electrocuted or tipped back into a pool of sharks. I hope they're rewarded if their department has done well - "Well done number 9, you'll find a bit extra in your wage-packet this month & you will be entered into our prize draw for a trip to Disneyland".

On this subject, i was watching Hercules recently where the evil king beheaded the 3 guys that hercules whupped and sent back "as a message".
Lets be honest, nobody in their right mind would go back to the castle and report, would they? You would chuck your uniform away and disappear into a farmers' village somewhere "missing presumed dead". Sod the poxy message.

If those cases, perhaps, but there's a long list of bad guys who reflexively "kill the messenger" even if said messenger had nothing to do with the bad news they're passing along. It's dumb, it's overkill, and it's hard to imagine the bad guy's other underlings just standing by their boss while he kills their co-workers on a whim.

No, in The Empire Strikes Back, Captain Needa is strangled to death for simply informing Lord Vader that the Millennium Falcon has (as far as anyone knew) jumped to lightspeed. I stand by my statement.
